Creating with punches and stamps

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a delightful weekend.  I have my last card for the Paper Playtime design team.  Sniff sniff.  I am sad to leave this great group of ladies.  I have made some great friends and promise to keep in touch with them and stop by their blogs.
Our challenge is to use punches and a stamped sentiment.  I used  four punches on this one.  Can you spot them?  :-)  I love the bee stamp from Cocoa Daisy a terrific friend sent me.  There is a little bit of glitter on the bee's wings.   I added lace, twine mixed with vintage buttons to embellish.  The papers are from Prima.  I distressed the entire card for a vintage feel.
I hope you will join us!

Thanks So Much

Happy Monday to you!  Paper Playtime's challenge is polka dots and oh how I love me some polka dots.  I know that's terrible English.  Sometimes you just want to express yourself without the worries of  a critic :-)
Lucy Kelleher generously sponsored the DT with CTMH products.  She is one very sweet lady!  I adore the floral print papers and the acrylic stamp set she supplied.
I hope you will join us for the challenge!

Miss You

Another glorious Monday for me and I hope wherever you may be too!  I have a card to share with you for Paper Playtime's newest challenge.  Every third week we  feature cards with a stamped sentiment.   This week we are looking for "Miss You" cards.  Our sponsor is The Robin's Nest so I incorporated some dew drops on my card.
This was my first time using CTMH papers and  twine.  I will say they are very nice.  I like the texture and weight of them.  I pulled out my House of Three (so sorry they are now defunct) stamps for my stamped sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by!

My Friend for Paper Playtime

At Paper Playtime we have a new friendship challenge that I am sponsoring  this week so please come on out and join in for a chance to win a kit to make this card!
The theme is friendship so I used a K. Andrew stamp with a few different papers from Echo Park and Simple Stories.  I added a Prima flower with a rhinestone to embellish.
Good luck!

Spring Birthday

Happy Monday to you!  I have a delightful Spring birthday card to share with you today for Paper Playtime's Say It With Sentiments challenge.

I love the orange!  A dear friend sent this TPC paper set to me a while back and I love the brilliance of color paired with slight distressing.  I covered a card base with the papers and then lightly inked a doily with orange ink.  I punched a aqua bracket and stamped my sentiment from Clear Dollar stamps.  The ribbon and  felt flower were part of the set.  Don't you love when you get everything together like this?  My latest obsession (again) is twine so a few wraps of the pink sorbet The Twinery completed this card.

A donkey wish

Wow!  I am back after a major computer problem.  My registry was not working properly and would not allow me to access any program.  It required me to restore the computer to original settings and let me say this to you: back up your stuff!  That was the worst part and then reinstalling programs.  It is still a little wonky.  I was doing a lot via the iPad but not crazy about the cutting and pasting on it and redoing photos.  So...here am I!
This is my version of a masculine card.  Hubby will understand as he used to use this word a lot to refer to people that weren't so bright.  It became larger than life because we found a little stuffed donkey while in St. Martin and started to take it with us on our travels around the world.  So when I saw this donkey stamp, I had to have it!  He might be reading this so pretend you never saw this card honey!  At this point you are probably thinking we are rather odd!  Yeah, maybe a tad.  I like to think of it as having fun!

The challenge at Paper Playtime is to create a masculine card with a stamped sentiment.  I used this American Crafts set paired with Basic Grey pattern paper and a touch of Simple Stories.
Hope you will join us!
Challenges I would like to enter my card in:
Craft Your Days Away: #41 Just for Boys plus buttons
Lollipop Crafts: Anything Goes
Love to Create: #8 Masculine
Karen's Doodle's: #101 Make if for a male
The Crazy Challenge: #112 Add a sentiment

supplies used:

DOUBLE Valentine

I am going there today!  I broke free from the Christmas holiday to make a cute Valentine card because I was itching to use these fun new Love Me papers from My Mind's Eye.  I am such a sucker for all their collections.  I seem unable to say no.
I created this card for today's Paper Playtime challenge #63 which is anything with a stamped sentiment.  Easy peasy huh? So get your cards in everyone because we want to see them and one lucky winner is going to receive A MYSTERY PACKAGE from THE SCRAPBOOKING QUEEN.  I know she is going to give out something unbelievable!

Onto my card:
I am calling this my DOUBLE Valentine because it has two chipboard hearts on it as the focal point.  I added a little rick rack felt trim with clear rhinestones for a little something.  The stickpin is tied with a vintage trim from my France antiquing trip this summer and a red rhinestone for color.  I stamped the word Valentine with a Sepia pad using a CTMH stamp.  Rounded corners were added for a little softness.

It was easy to pull it together and I hope you enjoy!  Come and join us in the challenge and see what the other designers are creating!

Supplies used:
cardstock/base: The Paper Studio white and Bazzill blue
pattern paper: MME Love Me Hearts Paper, Banners Paper
trim: vintage cream, red felt rick rack from craft supply
chipboard: large glittered heart Melissa France, small red heart
pin: craft supply
ink: Sepia

Buttons and Bows

It's Monday and work is calling! I guess most people are heading back in to start this new week. At Paper Playtime we welcome a new challenge. For this challenge you can create any type of project you would like as long as you include a SENTIMENT and our theme for this challenge is to use BUTTONS & BOWS!

Onto my card for this challenge.   I made two but am showing one here.  The Paper Playtime site shows both.  :-)
I used lots of products on this card. It began with white card stock and then the layering began!  7 gypsies papers paired with  MME and Bazzill deep chocolate cardstock with a bracket edge border.  Next came some lace, and a thick red velvet trim.  I punched  a circle and scallop to which I added a    3-d butterfly for the focal point.  The sentiment is K Andrew.  For my button and bow I added hand dyed seam binding with a brown button.

Our Sponsor this week is LYNN of BOOTS AND BLING TIME. She has a new blog, so please stop by and tell her hello and FOLLOW her if you like what you see. She is offering for a prize the CRATE PAPER NORTH POLE COLLECTION KIT shown below.

Hope you will join us!

Paper Playtime's Halloween Challenge

Happy  Monday everyone!  I hope you are having a great start to this new week.  :-)I would like to share a Halloween card for Paper Playtime's #56 Challenge which is Halloween.  Are you getting ready for this night of tricks and treats?  I love seeing my neighbors decorate their yards with pumpkins, gourds, scarecrows, and more.   Just need to get mine decorated.  I have been so busy with other things, my yard home is in need of a seasonal change.
On to my card!

This card was part of an order for a  sweet friend I met through a swap a while back.  She always flatters me with her kind words.  Thank you Pam for supporting me!  :-)  I started with a white base and added layers as I love to do.  Several different pattern papers on this. The orange, black , and stripe are all from The Paper Studio.  The harlequin is Authentique's "Lustrous".  I hand cut the white harelqinn from a Paper Studio print and added the black pearls (Queen & Co.) to accent.  The cat is an Inkadinkado stamp.    I punched an orange oval and then punched the center to make a frame which is backed with the black stripe paper.    I love the sparkle in the orange ribbon by The Paper Studio.  I cut the phrase from an Echo Park paper.  I think that covers all the items used.

Thank you for stopping by!

Challenges for this card:
Gingerloft: #25 Vintage
Lollipop Crafts: #50 Anything Goes
The Squirrel &  the Fox: #1 Anything Goes
Stamps & Fun: #66 Anything Goes

One last vacation for Paper Playtime August Stamping Monday Challenge

It's the  last vacation card I am squeezing in for the season.  Sadly, I am back to work so my Summer is officially over.  I guess I shouldn't type sadly, I have a job and I do like what I do.
At Paper Playtime we are asking for you to share your vacation card/project for our August Stamping Monday challenge. We changed things up a bit so want to give you the new details of how to play along.
Make a project with the theme of VACATION using a Stamped or Digi Image/Sentiment. Easy Peasy! So for all you Cricut Lovers out there – you can still play along by adding a STAMPED sentiment. And for all you DIGI Lovers out there – use any Digi image or sentiment on your project.
You can enter as many times as you'd like as long as all your entries are NEW projects and NO backlinks to previous blog posts.
My card:

I used this adorable Bugaboo image, Isabella, for my card.  The base is kraft cardstock and then I matted a piece of Bazzill with rounded corners on the top.  I cut a yellow sunflower doily because it was sitting in drawer unused and unloved.  It was screaming to be free.  I know you may be thinking, why a sunflower?  Well, why not?  LOL!  I colored Isabella in with Copics and then did a water color background.  I added real sand at her feet.  That's a natural twine that I love and have used on so many cards as you may have noticed.  :-)  The sentiment is from a Anna Griffin journaling tag, I cut it down.

I hope you will join us for the challenge!  Thanks for stopping by!

Back to school we shall go

but not today :-)  We still have a few more weeks of freedom.  I am sad it's coming to an end.  I love getting ready to go back to school and meet my new students but that means I am going to be unable to craft as much as I want .  I guess that's reality.
I have a tag to share with you this Monday morning.  A sweet little tag that I plan on tying to my daughter's lunchbox to completely humiliate her.  What a great Mom huh?  Yeah.  I'm like that.  I believe it's a sweet gesture but a high school student thinks it's rather "uncool".  I think the days of me giving her a kiss good bye with a big hug in public are over.  I am just glad it lasted this long.  I will admit that in 8th grade, I begged my parents to drop me off around the corner for any event so no one saw that they drove me.  Looking back, that seems silly since no 13 year old can drive legally.  Can you tell I might have recaptured my mind?  LOL!
At Paper Playtime, we have an anything goes challenge for this Monday.  Our sponsor is Whimsie Doodles.  I chose the apple from School Goodies for my image and went to work.  After coloring it in with my Copics (seriously addicted to these!) I trimmed it up and layered on a white circle.  It needed a little something, so I stitched around it with green floss to add the pop of color.  I love my polka dots and thought it was a fun print to use with this.  The bottom border is a gcd Studios paper strip.  It's all mounted on a bright red cardstock tag that I made myself.  I found one of my daughter's old colored pencils and decided to attach it this tag with floss and a tiny star button.  The little first day sticker is from Junkitz. Yeah a blast from the past huh?   I added the '11 SRM sticker  so we could remember the year.  I plan on scribbling a little note on the back for DD.
I hope you like and here's hoping you will come join us at Paper Playtime!

Summer time cards

Hey there!  Hope you are having a great Monday!  I am so excited to finally be back at home but I am ever so tired.  Jet lag?   A day of rest should conquer that.  :-)  I am getting together a fabulous give away so be on the look out for details.  Coming soon---I promise!

I have two cards to share with you today from Paper Playtime's Digi Monday challenge.  The first is using a Bugaboo image.  I think this flamingo is so cute chilling on the beach with his bucket and shovel.  I kept this card really flat cause I want to mail it.  Lesson learned after mailing so many bumpy cards.   Anyhow...

I used a scrap of Creative Imaginations paper (orange and purple ledger) and a tiny strip of Paper Trey Ink (polka dot) for this CAS card.  That;s a Studio G clear stamp which I used SU's Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp and then highlighted with two Queen & Co. rhinestones.

Challenges for this card:
Creative Card Crew: Animals Anitcs
Dutch Dare: #122 Color Challenge
Paper Sundaes: #79 Beach or Summer

The second card uses a BonieBleaux image and sentiment which you can find at Dude Time Doodles. I love this guy's attitude.  Well, I guess you could say I kinda gave him one with the sentiment.  Hee hee.  Summer days sure make me unmotivated to do anything.

I printed him on craft card stock because I am really terrible with backgrounds.  Opps!  Did I really just admit that to all of you?  I guess so.   I feel like it does not look so naked and like the guy is floating in space.  Like my flamingo is.  Since it's a masculine image, I kept this card as guy like as I could with the grid paper, red mat as a highlight and some brown twine.  I did use light colored brads for the edges.  I seem to be getting into brads again.  I have enough so it's good to destash.  :-)

Challenges for this card:
2 Sisters: #49 Anything Goes
CES Challenges: #46 Humor/Funny
Cute Card Thursday: #174  For his eyes only
Craft Your Days Away: #25 Summer
Totally Papercrafts: One of the boys

Digi Monday with Mr. Crabs

Today I heard the television playing  the Spongebob Square Pants theme a minimum of 5 times.  It seems teenagers find the show as funny as kindergartners.  Hmm.  I have to  admit, this show has run longer than I anticipated.  Despite Patrick's constant stupidity which I find annoying at times, I like that Spongebob does have a love for all creatures great and small.  Mr. Crabs is my fave character and today's card is a .....

When I saw this image at the Bugaboo store, I immediately thought of Mr. Crabs.  At Paper Playtime, our digi Monday theme is red, white, and blue or your patriotic colors, so I worked a little magic to make it primarily these colors.  A few side colors but mostly the red, white, and blue.  ;-)

I used my favorite Scribble Scrabble paper of all time.  It's called, Very Cherry from the Evelyn collection and I am down to a mere 2 x3 piece sadly.  :-(  A single piece of this with a blue ribbon from American Crafts tied with a button and red baker's twine complete the card.  I did stitch around the image to give a little detail.  The stamp is from Stampendous
