Wow! It's awfully quiet this week. I guess lots of people are on holiday or busy with other activities. I am actually having a nice little break sans kinder. Of course I miss her dearly and call to speak with her daily. So maybe that's why it seems so quiet? I don't have my Tigger bouncing from room to room. When she is away I miss hearing her playing the keyboard and singing along ever so lightly. There is no screaming for something to be fixed. I miss her. I really do. She makes me smile, laugh out loud from her silliness, and always gives the best hugs.
Okay, I am getting sentimental. Let's focus on a few things I had time to create the last few days.
Just a couple of cards I made, including one for the 2 Sketches 4 You weekly card challenge.
Both of these cards use MAMBI paper and Glimmer Mist. I just got a bottle of it and already used a 1/4 of it in a day! Oh my! It's kinda addictive spraying it on things to get a glittery effect. I bought the Khaki, which was not my first choice but the LSS was out of Coffee. Flexibility is important. :-)
My take on Laura's sketch this week:
Also made a few Valentine's Day items that I will have to share later. I just realized that I failed to take pictures this afternoon. Boo hiss. Thank you for checking out my little creative area. Have a terrific Tuesday!

Pink Elephant Joy
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and for those that don't celebrate this holiday, hoping you had a relaxing day. Our family had the usual feast and it was pure craziness for two days but seems to have settled down now.
My daughter made me a present that I wanted to share. I think it is ever so cute! In the past, she has made finger pots that I have sitting out for display and absolutely cherish. I love getting anything she creates. This year she made me an elephant.
By far my favorite tangible item I received from the holiday.
Now that I am back home, I was able to do some re purposing. I suppose it could be considered recycling as well. I started with a cracker(popper) that my Mother buys every year for the family. Although we are not British, we have picked up the tradition of the Christmas crackers and this years was filled with really cool toys! The most exciting thing for me was the beautiful paper it was created from. It had a leaf pattern with outlines in red glitter. I saved mine and made a card challenge for Let's Scrap.

Just a quick project
I made this yesterday while I was waiting for the delivery people to arrive. I used my brother's Christmas photo card and a paper mache house. I wanted to give a little something to Raegan's parents (sister in law). I searched the last few days looking for a gift for them and was not happy with anything I saw. Yesterday the mail came and in it was my brother's card. I saw the photo and immediately knew what I was going to use it for. Now hopefully I can get another picture for myself.
This is the little bird on the top of the house.
This is a side view which shows how I used pinking shears to cute the paper's and added tiny glass marbles to the roof for a crystal effect.
Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday!

Thank you ²
Christmas came a bit early for me this year. I received swaps from Sandra Ricks and Frizzy! Sandra was my partner for the Mini New Year's swap and Frizzy was my secret Santa for Shindig's Secret Swap. Oh my!
Okay let me start with Sandra's package because I got this yesterday but just got around to opening. I was in a rush this weekend to get to Simon's and I promised Jacquelynn she can open packages with me. She totally loves that!! This box was huge!! Jacquelynn was convinced there was a big stuffed animal inside. She was sorta right, because Sandra sews and she made me this adorable snowman pillow with primitive stitch and the word "wish". It's so cute!!! Beautiful! She sent party horns and confetti to ring in the new year which Jacquelynn has been walking around tooting on all day. She scooped the blue on up so the picture does not show it since she was utilizing it. Then she sent me the sweetest vintage hankies and tons of gorgeous ribbon!! I can't wait to use this! Also she sent me several white snowflakes which I am going to be using for a project very soon, a cute snowman ornament, a tin snowflake ornament ( I bought one of these last month and was so wishing I had bought two! You must have been reading my mind!) and a box of Junior Mints. Oh yum! My favorite candy. Thank you ! I love it all!
Sandra has some great ideas on her blog! Go check it out!
Then today I got my Secret Santa swap from Frizzy and I must say, I popped over to her site and was really touched while reading it. Go check out her absolutely adorable daughter, Ya ya!
She sent me an entire stack, yes,a stack of textured cardstock! Yahoo!!! Always need this so I was thrilled to receive it. At first I did not realize there was something tucked inside the stack. I realized after I saw a bulge on the top and quickly knew she had hidden some goodies for me. Indeed she did! There were several packages of cute stickers for the holidays, a metal snowflake ornament and an RX pad for New Year's woes. How funny is that? I was cracking up when I read the cover. Check out all those neat 3-d stickers she sent me! Too cool! Thank you Frizzy!
Thank you ladies for all your generousity! And thank you to those that stopped by to see! Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays!
The holiday season has me busy with family so not too much to share with you. I do have the weekly sketch challenge from 2 Sketches 4 You completed and will work on a few others later if I get the chance. I am awaiting a delivery so trapped at home which could be a good thing. Of course, I need to get to post office and mail Sandra and Pam's packages. Sorry ladies, I had them in my car for a few days and meant to get to them but then Simon was ill and yesterday was a complete disaster for last minute shopping. Ughhh! Will get those out to you ASAP!
This week it's Kazan's 16th sketch. I did a anytime card with Christmas papers or at least I think I can use it any time. I don't think it looks too festive to share after the holidays. You can tell me if you agree maybe? ;-)
Supplies used:
MAMBI Patterned Paper
Bazzill High Heel cardstock
Making Memories cream ribbon
Prima flowers
Kaiser flowers and pearls
Inkadinko "of you" sentiment stamp
Made another one too from same paper line and will share tomorrow!

As Promised
I completed a few cards and so excited to share. The only problem was the lighting this evening for photos was not so good. Ughhh! Not the greatest but going to post. Probably will kick myself later for posting it but... I was anxious to share!!
First is my 2 Sketches 4 You weekly card for Laura's sketch.
Supplies used: K & Company Christmas Cheer patterned paper, Making Memories Fa La La red shimmer alphabet letters and die cut snowflake, green stripe ribbon, and Paper Reflections craft card.
Second is for a challenge over on MMFY by a fellow DT member, Vicki. She had a dry embossing technique challenge. I used a card from DCWV that has polka dots embossed on them. It was a simple card for my future in laws. I used Teresa Collins, "Tis the Season" paper and Target flocked snowflake ribbon.
Thank you for viewing my blog! I appreciate your stopping by!

Piano Recital and New DT
Jacquelynn had her piano recital tonight and it was fabulous! She played, "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" beautifully! She looked so lovely in her new holiday dress that Nana bought her and a tad bit of makeup (without a reaction-yahoo!) I have to share a photograph of her with the Christmas tree she decorated entirely by herself. She insisted upon doing it herself including putting the star on top. She asked me to leave the room while she put the ornaments on. After she was done, she called me to come and witness it's splendor. She amazes me with her enthusiasm and dedication to complete projects. This Christmas tree will be remembered forever!
I have not worked on any cards since Saturday. I made a few gifts for Christmas but can't share here since those people may stop by. Sorry, I like to give surprises! :-)
I did receive fantastic news. I am joining the Apron Strings Designs 2009 card DT! I am so delighted that I was selected to be a part of the team! I will be working with lots of talented ladies and can't wait to see what they cook up!
Tomorrow I hope to have some new creations to share. Thank you for stopping by!

Ackkkkk!!! It's Thursday!!
I can't believe it is Thursday already! It's been an odd week for me. Due to vision problems, I have not worked on anything in a few days because everything is so blurry. Despite the fact I have been to my optometrist twice in the past few weeks and have an appointment tomorrow, my vision is not improving. Everything is slightly blurred and night driving has become terrible with light reflections. I am completely dismayed that my astigmatism will cause me to never have clear vision. The past few months my sight has decreased rapidly. I went to have my eyes checked and we have tried a new lens but it's just not working. In fact, I took it out for 24 hours and there appeared to be no difference between wearing it and not. Huh? Okay need to pump this out because I feel a headache coming on.
Here are the 2 sketch challenges for 2 Sketches 4 You this week. I used some recycled items on each card. I like to reuse packaging for products if I can.
First is Kazan's #15:
I used a recycled priority mail box for the card base, some warm white acrylic paint, Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste papers, Prima flower, AC Moore ribbon,Kaiser Craft Pearls, and a red satin button
Bonus Sketch by Heidi:
Supplies: flat green card, Teressa Collins Tis the Season Tag papers, Prima Say it in Crystals packaging (black polka dot),Making Memories black shimmer alphabet stickers, black card stock, and Sharpie black marker

Mojo Madness #63
While searching the net, I found a new card blog that I really like! Always fun to see what others are up to and then a challenge to boot-sweet! Poetic Artistry offers a sketch each week to inspire card makers to branch out and try something new, old, or indifferent to you. Obviosuly I like challenges so I had to try this one. Here's my card:
I kept it simple. Which is so peculiar for me. I usually seem to be adding buttons, ribbon, bling, etc. Not this time!
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world and wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Yeah a new sketch
Always fun! 2 Sketches 4 You offers a weekly card sketch that many crafters look forward to. Including myself! This is Laura's #14 sketch. Wow! The weeks have gone by quickly since 2S4Y started. As stated above, it's with excitement on Mondays I go to the blog to see the new sketch. Then throughout the week amazing cards are shared from people all over the world. It's absolutely incredible to see the creativity!
