Paper Playtime Challenge

Happy Monday to you!  For those in the US, happy Memorial day!

It's my first post for Paper Playtime as a design team member and I am excited to share the digi Monday theme for this week...it's wedding/love.  My card uses a Bugaboo image.
Aren't they the sweetest?   I used a scrap of Scenic Route paper for the background.  The remaining are pieces of plain ole cardstock.  I was trying to keep the focus on the image.  It reminds me of a young couple. Just makes me smile when I think back to those days in high school when I thought I found my life partner.  Things change so much, but the memories I have are all good thankfully! :-)

I hope you will join us for this fun challenge.  We have lots of designer samples to share and many prizes so please hop on over the blog and join in!

Friend Whimsy Pocket

Greetings to all!  Shabby Chic Sunday for me!  I am featuring an upcycled pocket today.  I love to recycle items.

At Sentimental Sundays we  have an anything but a card challenge this week.  Also a huge welcome to the new design team.  You can read about them here

These are the easiest little things to create.  Just flatten a cardboard tube, glue one end, and decorate away.  I used a wallpaper sample to cover the entire tube.  I  punched the bottom edge with the Upper Crest border and then added some hot pink glitter along the top.  I used a little lace for a more frilly look.  Then layering, layering, layering.  I used a digital red label, crown ticket, and sheet music background to achieve this.  Added a little twine, some seam binding, and a tiny flower.  You know me!  With some distressing!  :-)

Challenges I would like to enter this in:
Totally Gurjuss: #82 twine (brown twine)
C.R.A.F.T.:#104 alter/recycle (cardboard tube and wallpaper sample)
Card Cupids: Ribbons/Fibers (lace, twine, and seam binding)
Paper Sundaes: #71 Shabby Chic
2 Sisters: #41 Anything Goes
Crafts 4 Eternity: #21 Alter something
Challenge Up Your Life: #44 Recycling

Also a peek at a itty bitty baby jar I altered for a whimsy swap I am in!

Happy in Apathy

Happy Wednesday!  Or maybe not.  Wet hen upset on my homefront but know it will soon pass.  These things take time.  Just keep breathing.  :-)  My cards for today are simple.  In fact, I am going back to CAS again .
The first is a one layer with a pop up heart punch.  The rest is stamping.  It so reminds me of when I first started stamping.  Perhaps I have not progressed as much as I thought?  This is for my Crafty Creations Challenge this week which is "Get Well".

I am sending out get well wishes to a friend of mine and hope that she is back to her self soon.  Also want to say a prayer for those struck by the tornadoes in Joplin.  What  devastation they have endured.   Horrible storms are occurring every week it seems.  It reminds me that I don't have time to be angry, instead I need to seek those I love and thank them.  Thank you for reading this!

Happy Sunday to you!

Hey there!  Just thinking about another beautiful day ahead of me and hoping that yours is the same.
Quick post for me for today's Sentimental Sunday's challenge.  One layer.  Huh?  That was a challenge for me because I love to layer.  Actually it's rather simple.

I love the "Cut n Paste" K&Company  paper pack I bought.  I rarely buy a pack.  In fact, it's maybe once a year I do this because I grow tired of the papers.  I realized yesterday I am down to one single sheet of these papers.  :( I was disappointed because I do like these.  I have been grabbing them lately for projects and rekindle my love for them but fear it's too late to get another pack.  I will have to do an internet search later.  I know someone has them.  Right?   Anyhow, I covered a cardbase with the pattern paper.  Then I cut the rose out and added it with foam tape for dimension and a little glitter to the center.  I stamped my sentiment and added a few rhinestones.  Voila!

I hope you will join us in the challenge.  :-)

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
Crafty Catz: #83 Anything Goes
I Did It Creations: #56 Anything Goes
Let's Ink It Up: #15 Focal on Sentiment and 3-D flower
Paper Sundaes: #70 Pop It Up

Have a blessed Sunday

Bloom & Grow Forever

When I read the sentiment, my mind thought of Edelweiss from The Sound of Music.  My all time favorite movie.  Every year I watch it and it still moves me.  Years ago, my husband took me to see the musical with Christopher Plummer.  It was a fabulous show!
So my card for today is a little bit vintage mixed with shabby and a dash of MOD.  I love the colors of the paper that I used but sadly can't recollect the name because I threw that part away.   The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink.  I used a Tiffany Doodle's  image which I added punched hydrangea's  accented with  Stickle centers.  I did some distressing via a nail file and also a touch of stitching.  My tiny attacher added the piece of ribbon.  Pearls are Queen & Co

Just realized this photo does not show the true detail of the flowers.  Bummer.  I can't go out and retake because we have awful weather here.  It's been raining something fierce.  Lots of places are flooded.  I don't even want to think about it after the tornado hit last month and did some rearranging of items on my roof and home structure, I am a little tired of mother nature. Okay, my checkbook is not liking it so much.

It's for this week's Crafty Creations #118 challenge, flowers,  pattern paper, and a ribbon hosted by Donna. (Way to go girly!) Many thanks to  Tiffany Doodle's for sponsoring us this week.  Huge welcome to the new design team ladies you can read about them here!  We are thrilled to have you on!  :-)  Come join us please and see the DT creations!

So excited!

Because I get to share my first project with the Aud Sentiments as a design team member!  What a thrill it was when Audrey sent me the email asking me to be part of her team!  These are some super talented and sweet ladies so please stop by the blog and check them out!
My card uses Digi Chicks "Thrifty Finds" whom is sponsoring us this week.  I can't believe I had not visited this shop before!  It's incredible!  ***Warning*** you may become addicted!  I made this hybrid card in a short amount of time believe it or not.  I was so excited that these print up beautifully and that I could re size as I needed.
I started with a cream cardbase and then layered with the floral print and ledger paper which I stitched with red thread along the edges.  I used a journaling block and placed to hang off the card slightly with the beautiful blue bird on top flying away.  Can you see the ticket at the bottom  I printed a bunch of these because I like using tickets on my card.  They come with crowns and cent value.  The red flower is Prima.  I attached a vintage inspired gold button.  The twine was sent to me from a friend.  It's the coolest texture!  I distressed all the pieces with my Vintage Touch inks from Papertrey Ink.  There is no sentiment because our challenge was not to use one.  I was struggling with this at first but then once I got all the elements on my card, I realized it did'nt need one.  A reoccurring theme for me this week.  I like my text but the ledger was already heavy in print for me and I knew I wanted the main attraction to be the bluebird.
So hoping you will join us for this challenge.  Check it out here!

Supplies:
cardstock: Recolletions cream
digital paper pack: Digi Chicks "Thrifty Finds"
flower: Prima
ink: Papertrey Ink Vintage Touch
twine and button: craft supply
floss: DMC red

A pretty pink dress

A pretty pink fairy dress is my card for today.  We have an "anything goes" challenge at Crafty Creations which gave me the chance to let my mind go with whatever I like.   I am enjoying using Copics and will say that it's true about the more you use them, the better they get!  Also addictive warning.  Highly addictive to buying these little sticks.
I used A Day for Daisies image.  It reminds me of this challenge found at The Shabby Tea Room this week which is ruffled up:
I took my cue from the photo and colored the dress in light pink shades to match.  Doesn't this look yummy?  Oh wow!
I am so craving sweets these days.  I wonder what this 3 layer cake tastes like?  I am trying to imagine and it's making me salivate.
Okay moving on.
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!  It's a beautiful day and I am ever so thankful to be blessed with the opportunity to be a mother to my incredible daughter.  She keeps me laughing and always has a hug when I need one.  Oh Lord, I thank you for allowing me to be her Mother.  She is the reason I smile!

Today we have an anything goes challenge at Sentimental Sundays.  I hope you will join in with your creativity!  Also we have a design team call if you are interested in joining our fun group!  But wait there is more!  To celebrate the anniversary, you have several chance to win a digital sentiment of your choice from Raindrop Echo Designs Whimsy Stamps Digital Collection! All you have to do is visit the participating DT members' blogs and leave a comment on their Sentimental Sundays post for this week. That means that if you visit leave a comment for  me, Ann E, Ceal, Cheryl, Chris, Joanna, LisaMelissa, Nicole, Shirley, Tameko, and Tracey, you will get a chance to win one digital sentiment set! Easy!

I made this card for my sister.  She is also a teacher, hence the sentiment.  She knows all about it.  ;-)   We often discuss that our job is not strictly about academics.  Our maternal skills are needed frequently.  It's a soft voice to soothe, a gentle reminder to wash your hands, and a hug for those moments when they need it.  Preschool is the best!
For my card, I used scrap papers.  I am trying to clear them out.  Some of them I am sad to see almost gone.  This is a combination of Sassafras Lass, Basic Grey, and My Minds's Eye.  The base of the card is covered with a pattern from Sass.  The red swirl is My Mind's Eye and the orange strip is Basic Grey.  The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo which you can find here.  I printed and inked the edges orange.  I colored a Making Memories glitter butterfly with my Copic and used some Kaiser Craft pearls to accent.  The ribbon was sent to me from a friend.  The rhinestones are Darice.

I used the fabulous design from this week's Card Patterns.

Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed Sunday!

Happily Ever After

-
Hey there!  Hope you are having a great week!  It sure has flown by for me!  I wanted to share my card for Crafty Creation's this week.  Our sponsor is Just Some Lines and our challenge is anniversary.
For my card I used Sending You a Tweet.  A super tweet birdy it is.  I printed on kraft cardstock and then colored in with Copics.  I used a October Afternoon sentiment with Ruby Red ink from Stampin' Up.  I embellished with a few brads and air mail twine.  Also used glossy accents on the heart.  I paper pierced the edges for a little more texture.
I hope you will join us and be sure to stop by and see the fabulous creations from the design team!

Caylin's Cure

Hey there!  I know it's a Monday and I am posting a new card which is not my usual, but wanted to share with you this adorable digi that Jane created for this cause.  Isn't she the sweetest?  Bless you Jane!  The cause is near to me since several members of my family have/had diabetes.  You can read all about it here.
Fairy Klara is available here for you to purchase and all proceeds go to Caylin's Cure.

I colored my Fairy Klara in with my Copics and then set her on a pink pattern paper by Bo-Bunny which I used my Fiskar's Upper Crest border punch on the right.  Then I laid that with my washsi tape on the left to a brown card base.  I stitched it down with a light pink thread.  Lots of Stickles in Diamond for the wings, a rhinestone for the wand, and a tiny bow for her hair cause she has to accessorize.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will hop on over to the Caylin's Cure to read about this great fundraiser.
