Just squeakin' in my 2S4Y for the week!

Eeekkkkk! I am not sure I can be considered for this sketch because the time is so late. Oh well. I am sharing anyhow because I got this far. :-) LOL!

Autumn Chic

I have a little Thanksgiving house to share today. Making Memories "Autumn Splendor" line is my favorite Fall paper line. I love these papers and sadly I can not find them any longer. I used the last of my collection on this project. I painted the entire house brown and then covered it with 2 different papers from the Making Memories pack. I loved the copper glitter branch paper and found a glittered leaf pick that matched nicely at M*'s. I thought the cream tulle paired with olive sheer ribbon gave a soft touch with a little punch of color. I am sending this to a dear friend. Not telling who though in case they stop by here. ;) Inside I made a mini album that matches to record all those Thanksgiving moments. My camera's batteries quit on me so I was not able to get photos tonight. :-(

Did you see that CPS is looking for 3 card designers? I was tickled beyond delight when I read this news! CPS offers great card sketches each week with awesome sponsors! The DT always have incredible examples with creative ideas that inspire. Here is the latest card sketch #143:

Supplies: cardstock: Recollection black and cream; pattern paper, trim, sticker, rub-on and die cut: Making Memories Sabrina; other: black floss; pink rhinestone; tools:Creative Memories circle cutter

Quick Friday post

Squeezing in a few cards before the week is over for me. I have the 2S4Y card sketch (Laura's #39) which I also used some big ribbon for the CARDS blog challenge and then I tried M's #4 sketch. I think it's the sweetest thing that Savitri's daughter loves to draw sketches and make a card based on them. She's the cutest and her cards are amazing! I think she's one talented card designer!

I used Bo Bunny papers. I think this might be my favorite line for the holiday season. I love the colors and the whimisical designs.
I wanted to show a close up of the tiny gingerbread button I filled in with some glitter.

For M's sketch, I did a little hand stitching which I always like to do except when my needle gets stuck smack dab in the middle of the a glue dot. Ick! Yucky because it goops up my needle. :-(

A beautiful Sunday to all!

Lots to share on this glorious Sunday! I had a wonderful trip to Raleigh, NC for the ACSI conference. It was a blast to get to hang out with ladies from work. We chatted the entire drive down and back. I laughed so hard at times that I had tears in my eyes. What a great bunch of gals I work with. The conference had some uplifting seminars that were insightful. I look forward to sharing the information I learned in class. Oh how I miss college. Okay, well maybe not the papers I had to write.;-)

Thank you everyone for playing along with the The Cutting Cafe giveaway. I really appreciate every one's kind words and wish I could give everyone a prize. However, there can only be one winner and as
promised through random selection, the winner is....

her comment:

Oh my oh my these are sooo beautiful....such gorgeous talent and lovely papers and embellishments...love the santa paper with the reindeer where did you find that? I can't stop looking ata them!!! Thank you for such gorgeous inspiration :) Bonnie x

Bonnie please email me so I can send you the file. :-)

Today was a beautiful day in Virginia and my family and I took advantage of it by taking a bike ride. It was in the mid 70's today which is perfect for cycling. We rode through the neighborhood looking at the fall leaves on the trees and the ground, the geese waddling by the pond, and spotted a neighbor's Christmas tree light up in the window. I am so not ready for Christmas. It feels like I just hung up my Fall wreath. The days are passing quickly though and soon the holiday season will be here. So I mustered up some enthusiasm and made a Christmas box filled with candy today.

Nicole the owner of Creatively Green sent me a huge box of supplies last week that included Clay Artz which are handmade polymer clay embellishments. The red polka dot mitten is adorable with it's glitter! If you want to see all the cool sets she offers click here.

I used The Cutting Cafe Christmas All Around for the sentiment and the pattern paper is Bo Bunny. I copied a box Nicole had sent me in my package. It was crushed beyond use in delivery so I opened it up and copied it. I found a template on the web here if you want to make one.

Next is my card for sketch #41 at Card Patterns. I seriously have an addiction because every Saturday I check the site as soon as I wake up to see what the new sketch is and how the amazing designers have used it. Yep, I'd say that's definitely an addiction. Anyhow, here's my card:

Most supplies came from Creatively Green . The cardstock is 100% recycled with texture. I love it! I have a 20% off coupon for you too! Just use code AD11 and you will receive 20% off plus a free gift with purchase!

Cutting Cafe' Giveaway!

It's here! The time to share cards I made with a new file from The Cutting Cafe. I used the Christmas Gift Tags file which is huge! There are 14 different tags in this file and each one is uniquely shaped. These assorted tags are perfect for the holiday season. Wouldn't it be sweet to make a set for a friend or family member?
I printed mine on pattern paper and added some ribbon, floral picks, and buttons because I couldn't resist but these tags would be perfect without embellishments! :-)

Best of all...I am able to offer one lucky person this set for free! How can you win this Cutting Cafe' file? Simply leave me a comment on this post before November 14th 12 AM EST time and you will be entered in the drawing! I will randomly draw a winner on November 15th and announce the winner right here on my blog. Good luck!

Nodding my head and waving my hands

Why am I doing this? Because I have laryngitis. My voice is back but still strained and very hoarse. Why am I nodding my head and waving my hands? Because I am in the top 6 at Card Patterns! Woot! Although I am unable to squeal with delight, I can show my enthusiasm with head nods and hand gestures.
Thank you Card Patterns for selecting my card!

Lots going on this week for me and I want to share an upcoming blog candy giveaway I will have in just a few days for The Cutting Cafe. Regina has generously offered the DT a chance to give away a Cutting Cafe file. One lucky winner from my blog will be selected to receive a Cutting Cafe file for free! :-) I have been working with some of the latest files and I adore the ease of printing items out at home on my printer using papers of my choice in my pajamas. I want to share a quick card I made while watching Mad Men's season finale last evening. It came together super fast so it would be a perfect card if you need to make several.

I used the All About Christmas printable set which has tons of images and sentiments! As mentioned above, I will show case more Cutting Cafe projects this week and offer a free printable set for one lucky winner on November 11th! Be sure to check back for the chance to win!

November Wishes

With the new month comes changes to the decor. I suppose I can't leave the ghosts and jack o lanterns up when we are focusing on blessings and joining together with our family for Thanksgiving. DD has reminded me twice that the Halloween decor must be taken down. She's ready to move onto the next holiday. She's extremely family oriented and loves when we gather as a family for holidays. We went to my sister's for Halloween to celebrate my BIL's birthday which was lots of fun. My parents had a breakfast feast on Sunday so we had two days filled with cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and grandparents. DD has been asking me for over a month when she could go to Nana and Papa's so she was thrilled to go. We also celebrated Bear's 2nd birthday! Bear is the white fluffy dog my parents receive so much love from. I adore him too! He's like a soft blanket and just wants to be held or close to you. Pure sweetness.

A couple of cards to share today. First up is "Thanksgiving Celebration".

I made this card based on CardPatterns #39 sketch, Crafty Creations challenge #39 use Thanksgiving theme, Alphabet Challenge C is for circles, and Gingersnaps Creations-use orange, green, and brown.

This card is based on Get Sketchy's #12 challenge. I was worried I would not be able to find the balance for this sketch since it has two flowers on the upper left and lower right corners. I played with the embellishments and thought it was balanced and yet still met the sketch layout. Overall, I was surprised I was able to play the blue up in the pattern paper and like the appearance. You can't really see the blue unless you right click to see full size. It looks better IRL. Anyhow, thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it!

Supplies for the cards:

cardstock: Bazzill

pattern papers: unknown (My MMM pal, Pam sent me these! Thanks Pam!)

epoxy stickers: Creative Imaginations Christine Adolph

brads: Bazzill

ribbon: Lil 'davis and Target

rhinestones: JoAnn's

floral pick: AC Moore

button: craft supply

floss: DMC

ink: Stampin' Up So Saffron
