Transparency Overload

I have been on a transparency kick the past few days mainly because I wrote a tutorial for MMFY ezine about them for the October issue. Imagine my surprise when I went to 2S4Y and saw that this week's challenge is for acetate or transparency cards! Although I am unable to share my DT work, I did make something for the 2S4Y challenge since a sketch was provided. Oh what fun! I am using up some sheets from Magic Scraps that I have had around for a while. I am so happy to use it since it's been sitting in my crafting closet for 2 years. That's kinda sad. :-( It was truly neglected but alas it has been freed and put to use.
I was the host for a Fall Pendant Swap on Swap-bot this month. I finished my pendants today and they are wrapped and ready to be mailed to the ladies in the swap. Since I am leaving Saturday for Jamaica, I am trying to get everything done prior to my departure

Hope you enjoy! Thanks for coming by.

And more Webster's!

As mentioned in last blog, I made quite a few cards with my new WP paper. Here's another card and a mini book I am still working on, but cover is complete.
Now off to check on DD as she is feeling under the weather.

Beautiful Saturday/ Update o

It's gorgeous here in Northern Virginia today. J has been outside riding her bike which tickles me to death. Love it!
I finally got my order from Webster's Pages. I was a little disappointed as it did not include the new papers. My LSS does not carry individual paper. They have packages of the Parlor series but, I do not want that. I opted to order online from Webster's in hope that I would get it quicker but a month later it arrives and still not complete. :-( Oh well. Not like that's holding me back from using the paper I did get. LOL!

I did make a few cards. I am sharing this one with you using Raspberry Truffle cream, Feathered Nest Morning Glory, and Drizzle paper. I just love this paper! This card was for two challenges I had: Making Memories For You, Kristine's challenge and
Embellished, Friday night challenge.

This card won at Tallyscapper's World Friendship Day! I am sending it to Kim, a new friend I met there.
Thanks for stopping by!

Counting down the days (and the wrinkles)

until we go to Jamaica! I worked on a mini altered book today for my MMFY DT work next month. I want to get everything done before we leave since we will be gone til the first of the month. Yeah yeah yeah! Simon says he's drinking all day! ;-) JK! We both will be! Both of us are going to be the palest people there. I fully plan on being tan when I return stateside. As for Simon, he'll be red. The Brit does not tan very well. Poor guy. He always has some spot he missed (ok-my bad for not getting it) that inevitably gets burnt to a crisp and he walks around in agony a day or two and then peels. I can tell I am engaged and no longer carry my vain ways-I don't plan on coating up with fake sun prior to our departure. I certainly am not going to run out in the sun to tan now. This past summer I noticed a few more wrinkles and that scared me. Seriously! It's like all of a sudden they just appear overnight. Okay, maybe not. This goes back to my earlier statement that I am no longer obsessed with appearance. I can recall applying lotions, creams, etc. to try and prevent wrinkles, age spots, etc. It's not possible. I can opt for Botox but is this worth the money? I guess I am either getting comfortable with myself. Hallelujah!
Anyhow, here's a few cards to share with ya today. Still working on a few goals to get published but did manage to have three cards selected today. Thank you Lord for allowing me the opportunity to do what I love and have my loved ones with me. I am most appreciative. Thank you for stopping by my blog!
This card uses Pink Paislee paper, Bazzill cardstock, BG chipboard that I painted and blinged up, MM glitter aplhabet letters, Prima flowers, Stickles, Queen and Co. felt, and twill ribbon.

Temporarily removed, will be back soon! Thanks! :-)

Stamping Challenge

Yeah! A stamping challenge site that I found from a comment someone left me. Thank you! The Stamp Something has a challenge to stamp something for fall. Anything. My favorite paper line(Pink Paislee's Harvest Moon) is perfect for this request. I have a few bits and pieces left from last month's purchase. Not much though. Enough to make this card though!

My first ever on the site and I can't wait to come back to see their challenges!

Items used: Pink Paislee Harvest Moon paper,Bazzill cardstock, Inkadinkado owl stamp, Autumn Leaves journal stamp, Clear G spooky stamp, SU basic black ink, Sass Lass buttons, craft supply for ribbon, DMC floss.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my work. It means so much to me. :-)

He's my shepherd that came to show me

Today while driving J to her piano lesson, I had a complete idiot driver in front of me that tried to bang a U after making a left hand turn. I was also making a left hand turn directly behind him. He pulls to the right shoulder and stops but then pulls out again in a rush. I beeped at him in frustration and he decided to turn his hazards on and stop in the middle of the road. Seriously. Came to a complete stop with hazards on and sat there and put his hands in the air to me like oh well. All because I beeped. Did I need to do this? I have to ponder my action. What happened to my patience? Anyone else out there have it? I clearly lost it. I dated this guy once that was freaking calm about everything. He said trust in the lord, he's driving. Okay, I believe that. But, I was unable to abide by it. Now, granted when I did see this "calm" guy totally lose it over a facility not taking an AMEX card I was completely scared. I mean terrified that he was going to give that guy behind the counter a knuckle dent in the head.
Here I am trying to deal with my feelings of truth about this lack of patience I have lately. Definitely not happy to expose them to all, but I almost feel like I need to because that may be the only way I can ever change it. I offer a humble apology to those I have shown such deliberate annoyance with. I have a DF that assures me I am perfectly human and not out of the norm. Thank goodness for you honey. You must be God's Shepherd that came to show me the way. The way to leave things alone. Without you I would not be able to shed the past/perfection I seek and crave. My heart and mind are at ease with you. Thanks for holding my head up when I didn't have the strength to do so. You are amazing. Which brings me to my card for the day. I made this for Simon. I know it's got a huge flower on it! He doesn't care, do ya babe? ;-) BTW Si's pretty calm but man when he loses it-watch out!

Another quick post

because I have loads to do. Oh joy!

New sketch is up for 2S4Y and I wanted to get mine posted today otherwise I may never get to it.
Loving the Melissa Frances Paper! Also the sentiment on the ticket is from her as well. Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

Sweet Sunday

I would love to write that I was beyond productive this weekend. Unfortunately that would not be true. :-( I did get a few VIP things done though. Namely CPS and Caardvarks challenges. :-)
The new sketch is up for CPS. Love it! Here's mine. I gotta rush because J and I are meeting Simon and C for dinner.

I used Jenni Bowlin, Foo Fa la, and Stemma paper. The sentiment is Bo-Bunny stickers. Like really old ones.

Here is my Caardvarks card, "Working for a Living" challenge. I chose to go with a profession. I used Scenic Route's Appleton paper and Heidi Swapp Chipboard.

Gotta dash! Thanks for stopping by!

Lots to share!

The first week of school is over and J appears to be quite content. Much to my joy I may add. I knew it was going to be an adjustment but seeing your child so visually upset is never easy. Today was the last day for the week and she was extremely pleased with her day although, she still does not discuss with me the details. I guess that's a pre-teen for you. Again, just delighted she is adjusting and found a few old friends at her new school.

As for me, I am creating, creating, creating. It was a busy day and I am going to try and share as much as I can.
First, want to give my card for 2S4Y #8 by Kazan;

I used Foo la la and Jenni Bowlin paper, large Bazzil silk flower, small kaiser paper flowers, silk leaves and button from craft supply, Royal rub on, Making Memories red rick rack, and manila folder to put sentiment on.

Yesterday I began making my "Boo" boxes for Halloween. I used Rusty Pickle Paper.

Over at MMFY, we always have challenges going on so come and join in! The one I participated thus far is for a fall card:

So sad that daisy d's will no longer be making products. :-( This card uses their Autumn Paper line from last fall. I love polka dots and the color combo of orange, yellow, turquoise, and red. So bright and cheery!
Lastly, hurray to Frankie for winning the Prima drawing! Frankie mentioned that she would take a picture of herself rolling in the $500 worth of Prima's if she won. I can't wait to see that!
Okay, that's all I am sharing for today. LOL! Thanks for coming by and have a great Friday!

Coffee Woes and the "worry" bear

Grrrr! I made a slight mistake this AM when making my daily cup of joe. I got the filter, coffee, and water part right but failed to put the actual coffee pot in place. I heard the chime alter me my coffee was done but to my horror, I saw no coffee pot under the maker! Yikes! Well, it could always be worse.

Is anyone experiencing school "worries" with their child? My DD is not doing so well and I actually sat next to her last night and just held her for a few minutes straight. I was dumbfounded for words. This is rare if you know me. I chose to type "worries" as anxiety has so many negative connotations. We have a paper worry bear that we can write on to express our worries but let me tell you, a 12 year old is not interested in this. I can't blame her. I kinda looked at the idea like what the? You want me to write on the bear's belly my troubles and my "worries" will dissipate? Are you smoking something? While this may work for a child 5-10, a 12 year old is not interested in this solution. As for me, I was completely at a loss for solutions. As a parent, it really sucks to watch your child crying and not be able to offer a quick fix. After a heavy discussion we came up with a few suggestions and worked towards the ultimate goal. One being allowing my daughter to feel empowered to make things happen for her when she is at school. Anywho, any suggestions would be appreciated.
As for me, I have been on a creative hiatus. But yesterday I did make something that had me reflecting back to J's younger years. I made this altered coaster with Melissa Frances papers.

This month we are having a Scrap Pink crop at MMFY. There will be lots of challenges, games, and prizes. I am going to give you a sneak peek of something I made to offer up as a prize.
