Home Sweet Home

Oh this is so where I want to be for a day straight but work calls.  My feet feel like lead and extremely achy.  Maybe a pedicure will help?   J and I are due for a little daughter and Mom time this weekend so maybe then?  That's only three days away.  I think I can!

Okay so card for Penny's is shabby chic/whimsical.  Our theme is "Welcome Home" and I decided to use this sweet little house from Jane's Doodles.    I printed it on The Girls' Paperie "Vintage Patchwork" and then glittered it up with some Marcella hot pink glitter. Also, used some Diamond Glaze for the windows.   I colored the smokestack in with warm grays from Copic and added Queen & Co rhinestone hearts coming out of the stack.  The cute cloud paper is American Crafts.  The lace is from Making Memories which I bought quite a bit ago.  I stitched the edges and then inked with my PTI vintage touch. .  The aqua baker's twine is from Anita Be Stampin
I hope you will join us for the challenge.

I would like to enter my card in the following challenges:
Aly's Sunday Challenge: #40 baker's twine
Amber's Crafts and Stuff: #7 use a digi

I fell in the rabbit hole

Happy belated Easter wishes to those whom celebrated.  He is risen indeed and I shared the holy  day with family and friends in glorious way.  It was a remarkable day and I guess I sorta fell in the rabbit hole to speak because time got away from me before I could post my Sentimental Sundays card.
This week we are getting punchy and I took the challenge and ran with it!  It was a perfect opportunity to layer my card with yummy pattern papers from Sassafras Lass and Pink Paislee. The divine pie image is from Jane's Doodles which I colored with Copics.  Then I added a touch of red Stickles to resemble cherry pie, then sprinkled some chunky glitter on for the sugar which I attached to a punched circle on with foam tape.  My sweetie loves pie.  Not a cake fan (more for me).  Unfortunately, I am more of a cake maker than pie baker.  :-(  I will make them, but not sure they are remarkable.  My Aunt Wanda is like a Paula Dean.  She can cook and bake anything.  She talks just like her.  The nicest lady you could ever meet.  She was there this Sunday and made the best squash casserole.  I like to hear her say "spatula".  Makes me smile ear to ear.   Okay back to my card.  I punched a ticket  and oval with my EK Success punches and topped with a Melissa Frances chipboard heart.  Next I  used a banner for the sentiment (also Jane's) which I attached with my tiny attacher.  Some recycle red grosgrain ribbon and a piece of the decorative edge paper were added to give a little color and sparkle.  Voila!  It's done.

I kinda went off on a tangent there.  Can you see how I would fall down a rabbit hole and it would take so long to get back?  I literally start something and then a long the way I get distracted by other things I find fascinating and just have to explore further.  Next thing you know, it's 2 hours later.  Please tell me you are like this?  Appease me.  I watch my daughter and she does the same.  Bless her soul.  She was doomed with my genes for adventure and curiosity.  Of course, it brought me to here and I am sure glad to be here because I feel more love and support than I ever could of imagined.
Challenges I would like to enter my card in:
Card Cupids: Punches
Craft Your Passion: #55 Show us your layers
The Crazy Challenge: #64 Use three different pattern papers

So the run down on my project.  I used three different pattern papers from PTI, buttons and floss are my embellies, and technique is paper piecing  I seem to be drawn to that.  I used my CTMH "celebrate" stamp from Say It In Style for my sentiment.   She is colored in with Copics mostly.  Still working on getting browns.  :-)  One day!

Grow with Love

Hey there!  It's Sunday so that means I get to share the latest challenge at Sentimental Sundays.  Our theme is Easter/Spring.  I am going with Spring because I have made so many Easter cards already.
I used a sentiment/image from the Flowers in Bloom.  I printed it on craft cardstock and then colored in with my Copics.  Added a little Stickles for sparkle and then punched in the circle form.  The pattern papers are Bo Bunny, the fabulous white tape I received in a tag, the orange dot ribbon is Michael's.  I used my tiny attacher to staple it to the card front.  Love little bitty things.

I hope you will join us for this week's challenge!

Just relax and win this digi!

Hey it's me again!  I know two posts in one day!  Oh my!  I am back with a paper pieced card for the Crafty Creations Challenge blog and a chance for you to win this digi!

It's from Jane's Doodles and you might be the lucky winner if you leave me a comment on this blog post.

This week Jenni (aka Cardmadfairy Digi Designs) is hosting and sponsoring our challenge.  She is the illustrator of some fabulous digi stamps which you can find here.  She has super reasonable prices for her images so hop on over and check them out.

My card for this week is a  big comfy chair using some Echo Park  "Lace Stripes"  paper from the For the Record collection.   I paper pieced the pillow and then added a button for the center.  I punched the blue print with my EK Success Open Scallop edger and added the floral strip.   The sentiment (Tomorrow is another day) is from the Echo Park "Noteworthy" piece.

Wednesday

It's Wednesday and I am here to share my card for Penny's!  This week we are looking for Easter themed cards.  Our sponsor is Lili of the Valley

I used Leap Frog for my card.  I printed it on craft cardstock and colored away with my few Copics.  I am finding CAS cards calling to me.  It's funny how my style changes from Shabby Chic to clean and simple.  I guess it's the change in the weather?  I layer up for the winter and strip down for the summer?  I used my Sakura White Gel pen to highlight and color in their tales.  I placed a strip of Bazzill scallop die cut along the top with a Martha Stewart pink seam binding ribbon.  The sentiment is a wood stamp from Michael's stamped with Hero Arts black.  I then placed a row of MAMBI bling below it.  Voila!

Challenges for my card:
Crafty Ho's: Pastel Pink and Spring Green
Crazy Challenge: #62 Easter
Oh La La Creations:  #77 Easter

Help for Japan Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to a very special blog hop today! You may have been on the first hop that Whimsy put on for this special cause. Well, there were so many who volunteered to join in that we had to do a second one! The illustrators of Whimsy Stamps have come together to draw a special set of digi images for the purpose of raising money for the relief effort in Japan. All proceeds from the sale of these images will be donated to that cause. Kenny K, Raindrop Echo Designs, Meljens Designs, and Crissy Armstrong all contributed art work.

For the whole month of April, you can purchase the images as a set or individually (your choice) by visiting this page on the Whimsy store site. Please consider helping this special cause by purchasing one or all of the digital images we are offering.

If you have landed here from Tameko's blog, you are right on track. If you have come here randomly and would like to start hopping from the beginning, please go to Ann's blog. She has the blog rotation order posted if you need to refer to it.

The amazing ladies of two design teams have come together to host this blog hop for you! The team from Sentimental Sundays and the Kenny K Krafty Girlz have joined forces to design some amazing jaw dropping creations for you. You have seven days to hop through all the blogs and enjoy all the lovely creations from these talented people.

The hop runs from now through til Sunday April 17 at noon. There will be several opportunities to win blog candy! Four random commenters will get a chance to receive one of the three individual images or Ann's sentiment set. So be sure to leave comments all along the way for your chance at a free digi! Also, if you post the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's sidebar, you can enter into the draw for the grand prize! The grand prize will consist of the entire digital set made just for this cause as well as a gift certificate donated by Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs worth $10 to use at the Whimsy Stamps store! To enter, you must help us advertise for this cause by posting the "Help for Japan" button on your blog's side bar (just grab it from my side bar or from the top of this post) and then get your name on the Inlinkz option on Ann's post so we can be sure to find the winner.

Now on to my project:

I have used Help for Japan Sentiments and Kimono Bear in my projects today.  I was so inspired I created two cards for this special event.  Couldn't help myself !
For this card, I was inspired by the colors  of Japan's flag: red and white.  The sun disc  on the flag  is represented with the black circle.  I added the heart and air mail twine to reflect the United States desire to assist in this time of need.
This kimono bear image is just the cutest!  I colored her with Copics and then added a few sparkles (earrings and swirls) because I love glitz!  I used the EK Success Heart Twined border punch, a piece of satin red ribbon, and then Ann's sentiment slimmed down.
Next you'll want to visit  Lisa's blog to continue hopping. Thank you so much for stopping by, and for your support of this very worthy cause.

Drip, drip, drop little April showers

Hey there!   Hope you are having a fabulous week thus far.  I am back today with my Crafty Creations card for this week.  Our challenge is rain showers.  I really wanted to use this music sheet paper because I was thinking of the song, "April Showers" from Bambi while creating this.

I used Some Odd Girl's "Sprinkle" image printed on American Crafts Gleam paper.  I paper pieced the eyes and then highlighted with a white gel pen.  The cloud paper is Twitterpated from Imaginisce.     I punched the bottom of this  with this tool  and then used a small circle punch for the centers.  I stamped the sentiment with a CTMH acrylic stamp from "Say It In Style" in black.

Challenges I would like to enter this card into:
Craft Your Passion: Anything Goes
Heart 2 Heart: Spring (CTMH products used)
Make It Monday: Anything Goes

It's April, April getting down for the month

Okay how many of you have seen that video for "Friday" by Rebecca Black?  I know this is old news now but that song is stuck in my head.  Grrrrr!  I keep singing the chorus, Friday, partying, etc.  **Warning** don't watch if you have a highly addictive personality.  My daughter keeps telling me stop singing it.  Did you see Stephen Colbert do this?  It's the best!  Watch the ending with a surprise guest!

So now with that out of the way.  I have a things to share.  First, I promised to give my paper pierced bear card to one special friend and that person is...

Shirl with this comment:
I adore looking at your cards and this one is amazing, the image is just too cute. I definitely would love to own it so ....."Pick Me" .....

Hugs Shirley x x

Thank you Shirl for your sweet comment!  Please me your address so I can mail this out ASAP!

Onto my card for Sentimental Sundays post.  Another simple card for me.  The theme is Let's Get Wet!  However you may interpret.  Our sponsor is Deedee's Digis.
I used Smooth Sailing for the image which I paper pieced with some October Afternoon  Seaside papers.  The tiny flag at the top is a sentiment from On Thoughts by Raindrop Echo Designs found at Whimsy Stamps.  I colored in a few places with my Copics which I am struggling to use still and then I added glitter to the ocean waves because I am crazy like that.  I am such a bling fanatic.  Finally a piece of red ribbon with a vintage button tied with some blue twine that received recently from Anita Be Stamping.  Fun colors at the store!

Challenges for my card:
Card Cupids: Use dots and stripes
Digis with Attitude: Anything Goes
I Did It Creations: Anything Goes
Stamp Something: Use a digi
Totally Papercrafts: One for the boys
