It's Monday everybody and I am ready for a new week! How about you? I am crossing items off my to do list like crazy because it was piling up on me. Ever have the sinking feeling like the list is bigger than you? I remember as a kid my Dad had a legal size paper list of items to do around the house. Most of them were biggies too like painting, electrical, wood work, etc. I also recollect that one Father's day I thought it would be nice if I could do one of the chores he had on his list. I scoured it multiple times trying to find something I knew how to do but never found one I knew I could complete successfully. If only he had simple things like cut the grass, trim edges, clean the pool. It was replace the plug on the pig (our vacuum cleaner which was a pink canister with a long hose) or strip and chaulk the bathrooms. Ughh! I sadly don't recall what I did for him on the special day. :-( I do appreciate his determination to fix everything himself and his ability to know how to do those tasks. Super Dad he was/is still!

Today I was back to my vintage shabby feeling and created this Valentine card with lots of love.
I used Lily Bee Design papers for the base which I stitched around the edges with red thread and distressed with scissors and ink. I tied a pink grosgrain ribbon about the base and then started layering.
I sprayed a white Wilton doily with red pepper ink and layered it under this super sweet vintage image that a dear friend sent me. She also sent me the sweetie pie tag which I punched a small heart from.
I added a Recollections polka dot flower with a white button to the bow's center. I added three pearls to the vintage image and tucked a red feather in for fun to finish off my card.
I love feathers but keep forgetting to use them. They are fun to accent with.
