The jolly man ceased to exist after 6th grade. She overheard a conversation at school amongst two students that Santa was not real. It was taken much better than I anticipated. She asked me calmly and I verified it. No tears or cries of woe. After a few seconds of letting it sink it, she then asked me, "will you still get me presents if I know?" Oh joy! I completely lost it and had to laugh out loud.
Now for my card.
A fun card with vintage inspiration. I used a little ink to distress the edges and all My Mind's Eye papers for this card. I am trying to use this entire pack for this season. I am almost there. I am thinking of showcasing everything I made at once the last piece is used. I cut a Wilton doily in half for a little texture and color. I also stitched to attach the red banner to the green panel. I used a CTMH stamp (Noel) with a brown ink in the lower right corner. The large button finishes it off. Thanks for peeking at my Santa card! Supplies listed below.

This is just awesome Amy!! This Santa is wonderful!! I so love what you did with this card! I found some doilies at Walmart. Now to just use them!! :)
You know I love vintage, and this is spot on. Love all the extra little things you added to it. The sewing, shading, button. I love your daughters reply too, and I think she will make a great lawyer when she grows up. Ha! Hugs
Gorgeous card!
Fabulous card Amy!! Love the vintage image so perfect with dp and doily ;)
Great card!! Had to laugh about your story. Here in the Netherlands we have Sinterklaas, whose birthday is tomorrow. Ge is assisted bij Zwarte Pieten, black men in colorful cothes and hats with feathers. Sinterklaas rides a white horse and yes.. even on roofs! The assistents throw gifts down chimneys. Although with central heating that has become a problem.
And just like your daughter, my children were more concerned with the gifts than with the non existance of Sinterklaas :)
What a fab card Amy ... I love the Santa image ... thanks so much for playing along at CCCB

What a great story.. I used to be a preschool teacher and that was always a problem, Some kids would tell others that there was no Santa. At 4 I think they should still believe... So I would my co-teacher and me would do our best to convince to them that there was indeed a Santa.. I just love the things that kids say!!! Your Santa card looks wonderful!!! I just love that Santa image..
Hugs, Linda

wow! I adore your card, Amy!! Such sweet vintage goodness here! :) I think it would be fabulous if you showcased all the projects you made with this collection when you're done.
Love your story about your DD and Santa. I remember when my son figured things out. He never asked me........just made the announcement one year that he wasn't real. Had to shush him in front of my daughter. I was expecting questions and comments, but he was just so matter of fact about it all. Now my daughter, she still chooses to believe. I know she knows, but she loves the story too much to say otherwise. :)
