Old Guys Rule

This line by Creative Imaginations has been out for a bit now. There are several different themes available. By themes, I mean golf, fishing, etc. I picked a few sheets up on Sunday because I wanted to make a card for my father's birthday.

Today I cut into the papers and created a card for the Paper Popsicles card challenge this week.

I covered this BE gift card holder too.

I know. Nothing spectacular. I really had to try and keep it simple and remember it was a man's card and gift card holder. It was really difficult for me NOT to put rhinestones, glitter, flowers, and more on these items. I like that it is simple and has a clean look. I did do some distressing with my nail file.

And umm. . . yeah that's it. There it is.

More Cosmo

Cricket to share. I created this card based on Sketches by Tamara #98 card sketch. I love the simplicity of the design. An easy card to create with a cute sentiment. I am giving it to a girlfriend of mine that I go to lunch with every month. :-)

Tomorrow I will be back with a new recipe for the Paper Popsicles blog and a gift idea I created with a masculine theme. It was difficult to refrain from blinging it up but I managed. :-)

Another Monday

is here. Yeah. Yeah. I guess the best thing about Monday's are the start of a fresh week which brings new sketches to try. I don't seem to find much time during the weekends to work on projects.
I was able to swing by the LSS and pick up some of the new Cosmo Cricket Early Bird paper yesterday. It's the first line I have bought from them in quite a bit. I love the stripes, polka dots, florals, and vintage images in this line. Very fun! Much appreciation and love to my DD for the gift certificate. :-)

Congratulations to the final 30 artists that advanced to the next level in 2S4Y's card contest. That must have been difficult to judge with 400 + entries. The finalists have a new sketch to work with and a few have already completed it. I enjoy looking at the amazing work created. I wish them all luck!

The rain finally stopped!

Yeah! It's been raining the past few days. It was so dreary. Ughh. I know we need it, but seems to come in flash flood warnings or not at all. KWIM? I am not complaining because it gave a me a reason to stay inside and stamp! Sheila, the owner of That's Jazzy Stamp Dreams asked me if I would like to work with her stamps and I jumped at the chance to. She sent me the funnest stamps! Here's two samples of the mushroom set entitled, 'Shrooms to go. The sentiment , Thanks,is also a That's Jazzy Stamp Dreams. This is the cutest set! I made two cards to share with you. The first is based on the Card Patterns #19 sketch.

This was a random card I just pieced together with scraps for the Use It challenge. I love the dotted mushroom! The new challenge is:

• 1. only scrap paper
• 2. Bling
• 3. Die cut(s)
• Bonus: 4 different pieces of pattern paper

I did all except the bonus. This card definitely uses scraps, hence the lack of 4 different papers. I blinged it up Stickles yellow and green. I made a circle die cut and the scallop border.

Paper Popsicles challenge

Well, this will be a long post. Lots to share today! I have been busy, busy, busy! The first of the month is usually this way so I have grown accustomed to the fast pace I must make to complete deadlines. The good news is once I finish paying bills, cleaning the house, completing projects and cards, mailing packages, cutting the grass, and various parental duties, I can kick back a bit.

I posted a new card challenge at the Paper Popsicles blog. This week is a "recipe". The winner will receive 3 digital designs of their choice from the Paper Popsicles store. 1st Annual Ultimate Card Showdown

Last night I was working on my 2 Sketches 4 You card for the 1st Annual Ulimate card showdown while watching Planet 2100. It was extremely troubling and I found myself wanting to change the channel, but could not. If you did not see the show, it was a special on global warming. I am not certain I believe all the speculations predicted for our planet, but some were apparent. Just a few predictions scientists shared were Florida would be covered in water, Nevada would be uninhabited, communicable diseases would be rampant, and there would be border control problems. I think the last two are already present in today's society. I do agree we need to address this issue and everyone should be informed. Okay, this post is already way long so I will continue on to my point.

I think I am going to make another card because just not sure this is a "winner." You may enter as many cards as you like which is added bonus! :-) I am not kidding when I type there are so many incredible cards for this contest. This is going to be extremely difficult to judge. Fast comebacks needed!

As so many say, T.G.I.F. My DD was happy that her SOL's are completed which signals the end of another school year. The whipper snapper was extremely on track this week as she corrected me on Tuesday that she needed to eat a healthy breakfast since she had an SOL that day. A donut is not healthy? ;-) She constantly amazes me with her factorial statements. This week we worked on quick comebacks when someone is trying to get her "goat." After explaining what "goat" meant, it was time to find some fast words when someone was trying to get her "goat". She is extremely literal so when a boy told her that her entire family was ugly, she said, " no their not." Then continued to argue with him that he had never met her father or I so he could not know that. This ensued into a huge screaming debate in PE where the two were pulled aside. Hmmm. No further comment. I found a few online games that offer responses to bullies and she played them once. Now it's boring. If you know of any sites that provide this type of lesson I would greatly appreciate the link. Thanks!
