A happy day!
A happy day it is! Everyone in my household returned to work/school today. A typical day one could say :-) The holiday and inclement weather gave us a nice four day weekend but today it was time to start back up again.
I pulled out some fun and bright papers to work on a Spring card. I know it's just around the corner.
;-) Which reminds me that I need to do some pruning and start considering flowers for the Spring. This week at Crafty Creations our theme is "At the Bottom of my Garden Lives...". I am sad to admit I know I have seen some these critters lurking about. Definitely not a pleasant moment cause I find them not so lovable and cute in real life.
But this little fella just me smile! Look at that huge grin! This is a Jane's Doodle digi that I printed on Sass Lass and October Afternoon papers and pieced together. I added the big red button with floss for the center because he needed a little something. Lots of polka dots! A fave print of mine. The sentiment really makes me snicker because I joke with my daughter about moving at a snail's pace sometimes. I am usually full of energy and fast paced. I love that God gave me a daughter to slow down and see all the things I miss at times in high gear. What a blessing! Happiness in the fullest!
Here's to inspiring you to dig in! Please join us at Crafty Creations with your garden inspired card! The design team created some cards with Delicious Doodles. The chain and cog image is so fabulous!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CPS: sketch #206
I Did it Creations: #43 anything goes
DYSU: #7 dots ( lots of dots!)
Res Q: #71 Don't Be S.A.D. ( made a card that makes me happy!)
Simply Create: #37 It's Bright in Here

With All my heart
Happy President's Day to you! We have a holiday today but doesn't really feel like a day off when you have doctor's appointments to go to. So no lounging in jammies all day. Probably for the best. We had PJ and Pizza day at school last Friday and it was fun to go to work in comfy clothes. Except I needed to go to the grocery store afterwards and I didn't bring a change of clothes. Home I went. There was no way I was walking around with my slippers and polka dotted pj's at Wegman's.
My card today is for the Brit. My soulmate. We have date night every Tuesday and I really look forward to it. I know, why Tuesday? Because it works for us! :-) Anyhow, his favorite drink is a martini, dry, with a lemon twist. No olives. He truly hates olives. Except he ate olives Saturday that were on my pizza. Hmmm. I saw this digi and thought of him immediately! He tried to order a martini at Chili's last Tuesday night. Probably not the best place to try and do this. The bartender came over to get instructions from him. I looked at him and said,"you know you are getting olives right?" Wink wink! Unto my card.
I used a digi by Lauretta and paired it with a couple of challenges. Thanks Lauretta!
Catered Crop: recipe (kitchen theme, patterns, die cut) Scan down the page to see her knitted olives! They are the cutest ever! Great Valentine gift! :)
Crazy 4 Challenges: use a die cut (tag)

Going in a different direction
A shabby chic card I made. Totally different than the cards I shared earlier. Wow! Two posts in one day!
I finally got to use my Paper Trey Ink Fillable Frames #10 die and stamp set! :-) I stamped the die with SU chocolate chip. I used a Lil Inker's stamp and die for the banner. The paper is My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary mixed with So Sophie. The flower is a Prima which sits on top of a Melissa Frances glittered heart. I stitched the edges with SU's sage shadow thread which I also used to stamp the sentiment. The banner frame is stamped in perfect plum. I used my PTI vintage touch inks on the distressed edges and each die cut. The buttons are threaded with the same thread used to stitch around the stripe paper.
Challenges for this card:
Waltzingmouse: sketch F
The Shabby Tea Room: Keeping Warm with photo inspiration
Paper Sundaes: flowers and distressing
I hope you are having a fabulous evening!

Wednesday challenges
Hey there! Hope you are having a great week thus far! How was your Valentine's day?
My first card is for the Crafty Creations challenge I am hosting this week. It's a "thank you" to our participants for allowing us to come together and share out love for crafting. Our sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy. I used the adorable Lenny image for my card.
I printed on Sass Lass papers and then cut out. I traced around the image with a brown ink pen to give a little definition. Then I popped it up with some foam dots. I added paper flowers with a Stickles pink center to replace the flowers on the image, matted on kraft cardstock, applied a rub on and finally tied a pink ribbon to embellish.
The winner of this week will get their choice of 3 digis from Stamp Fairy so get your entry in to win!
Challenges I would like to enter my card in:
Bunny Zoe's: #9 Spring flowers
Crafty Emma: Cute & Cuddly
Karen's Doodles: Animal Friends
Lexi's Creations: bears
OCC: spotlight cutting
Send a Smile: #3 2 brads, 1 ribbon, and an animal
This next card is for Penny's Paper -Crafty challenges. We were encouraged to seek inspiration from this photo. Our sponsor is Some Odd Girl. I chose the Fluffly Love cloud. Is it not the cutest? I kept this card way simple.
I printed the image up 2\twice and then colored in one of the rainbows. I cut the clouds out of the second image and glittered with Stickles then applied with foam dots for dimension. The tiny heart got some Stickles too. I matted the image on a piece of brilliant blue Bazzill cardstock. A fun and super easy card!
I hope you will join us for your chance to win some great prizes!

Ways of Love
Happy Valentine's Day! Okay maybe a little early but figured better early than late. So have you finished your Valentine cards? I have made all that will be given for this year. I am so done with hearts. For this month I think. If you procrastinated and need some quick cards, try these adorable images with cute phrases.
The sick bug has left my house. For now. Yeah! All is well again! So happy about that. Many things to be grateful for!
First let me share my Sentimental Sunday's card for this week. I am using the sentiments Ann made especially for me last week. Blushing! This week we were challenged to only use red, pink, and white. Sounds easy huh? If you take into account the various shades of pink and red, it would seem so. I really wanted to use this g.c.d Studios paper so I opted for my background to have a tiny bit of green. I am eagerly awaiting the new Winter CHA lines so I need to use what I have. :-)
The main focus is my sentiment. Been a while for me since I have embarked on the embellishment craze. I had tickets, circle punch outs, chipboard, buttons, ribbon, and more to add. I love layering! It's fun but also you have to say, "whoa!"
Challenges for this card:
Crazy 4 Challenges: #74 Hearts
Creative Cottage: #32 Words of Love
Dutch Dare: #99 Love is in the Air
Frosted Designs: Use word Love
One Stop Craft: #118 Love is in the Air
Paper Pretties: #140 Valentine's Day
Polkadoodles: Week 6 That's Amore
Really Reasonable Ribbon: #17 pink, red,, and white
Sew Many Cards: #43 Valentines
Stamp-n-Doodle: red, pink, white, and bonus color of green
Wee Memories: #43 love theme
Have a blessed Sunday!

Feel Better Soon
Sickness has hit my house. As I type this my daughter is resting after a horrendous morning that involved vomiting every 7 minutes. Ughh! I am hoping the shower, rest, and and a tad of ginger ale will soothe her a little. I am trying to pump fluids back into her. This bug seems to be hitting hard in our area. I feel so bad for her. I picked her up and she was covered with sickness. In high school, throwing up in front of classmates is so humiliating. She was in a rush to get out of the building before she saw more people.
But somethings must go on.
Wednesday's mean a new challenge at Crafty Creations. I made this card earlier this week for the latest challenge which is 3 little words by Shelly. Ironic how it fits for today's events.
Thanks for stopping by!

Super Bowl Sunday wth love
Happy Super Bowl Sunday all! I am not a huge football fan, but here in the states most people are gearing up for this day with parties and we decided to throw one ourselves. Totally informal though. After a successful family get together for my birthday last night, we had so much food and beverages left over it only seemed logical to have another party today. :-) Love it! Favorite part of the Super Bowl: the commercials!
I am back with my Sentimental Sundays card for today which features DeeDee's image. I thought this was a sweet image. I am keeping it simple these days. I printed the digi on a scrap of October Afternoon paper and cut out, added some stickles for the foam and heart, and colored in the cinnamon stick with my markers. Five stitches later and it was complete.
Be sure to stop by Sentimental Sundays and check out the new freebies!
Supplies:
cardstock: Bazzill and Recollections

Valentine cards galore and my latest venture!
I am continuing my love fest with more Valentine cards! My first card uses the the cutest image from Jane whom I am proud to announce has asked me to join her design team! Yeah! I am Doodle girl!
I love her work and I am looking forward to working with her. This first card is for the new #46 challenge at Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge. We are currently looking for another design team member to join us. Check the details out here.
I used Jane's Love Rocket. More paper piecing. I copied the image onto My Mind's Eye papers and then cut out pieces to accent. I used foam dots to give some depth. The hearts are filled in with Stickles. I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to emboss the white paper for added texture. The sentiment is a rub-on from Making Memories.
Challenges for card:
Bunny Zoe's: Love is in the air
Creative Cowgirls: Love is in the air
Flourishes: Valentine
Paper Playtime: digi
Paper Sundaes: Valentine's
Penny's Paper Crafty: Hearts a Flutter
My second card is for Crafty Creations challenge that the lovely Claire set which is based on Robert Burns poem, Red, Red Rose. I chose to take a verse and make that the main focus of my card.
I did change the spelling of the word love.
Oh my luve is like a red, red rose,
That's newly sprung in June:
Oh my luve is like the melodie,
That's sweetly play'd in tune.
As fair art thou, my bonie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a' the seas gang dry.
Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi' the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o' life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel a while!
And I will come again, my luve,
Tho' it were ten thousand mile!
Robert Burns
Hope this will inspire you to come and join us for the challenge! Also stop by and see Claire's art nouveau stamps she designed!
I had some scraps that I used on this card. Not sure whom the manufacturers are. I believe the polka dot is My Mind's Eye. The cardstock is Bazzill.
Challenges for my card are:
Crafty Creations: Red, red rose
Creative Craft World: love card challenge
Delicious Doodles: Spots ( just found this blog and they have lots of cute digis!)
I Did it Creations!: red
Scrapbook Sisters: red, red, red
Thanks for stopping by!
