More Earth Love for Paper Popsicles card challenge

This is my 200th post! I can't believe it because I have been rather lame about updating several times a week. I guess the Summer has made me a bit lazy? Another reason I love the Summer!

Anyhow, the new card challenge is posted at the Paper Popsicles blog. This week's challenge is create a card with a greeting that starts on the front of the card and ends on the inside. Not sure my wording is correct so hopefully the pictures explain it better. :-) I created a card using the Cosmo Cricket Earth Love papers. Yes, again. I love the border elements they offer with this set. I used the "Behind each cloud.." as my sentiment for the front:

and the inside of the card:
Supplies: cardstock: Wausau white and Prism black; pattern paper: Cosmo Cricket Earth Love; button and ribbon: from craft supply; rhinestones: Darice; staples: Wal Mart; other: punch: Fiskar's Apron Lace border punch
Thank you for dropping by! :-)

Big News to share!

Creatively Green storefront

I was officially asked to be a designer for Creatively-Green! This new venture is something I look forward to because it combines my love for crafts in a friendly green manner.
Everything in the store is eco-friendly! The store supports local artists and has some unique items that I have never seen anywhere else. The best part is there are over 100 items under $5.00! Many people believe it costs more to be green, but this is not true. You can buy cardstock, ribbons, flowers, and more!

Here are some of my favorite items that the store carries. They are not all under $5.oo but they are unique! Also be sure to join us on our ning network. Click here to join!

wooden medicine bottles:

Recycled cardboard flowers:

These are my favorite! Absolutely beautiful!

Webster Goodness

A few more cards I created with Paper Popsicle's "Cherry Pie" kit. I based these cards off the new sketches on 2S4Y this week.

The first is for Kazan's #31 sketch.

Supplies: pattern papers: Webster's Pages; alphabet stickers: Basic Grey from Paper Popiscle's Cherry Pie kit.

My fiance loves pie! Despises cake. He says it a horrid dry sponge. More for me I say! :-) I made this card for him because he has a birthday fast approaching. No birthday cake for him. He wants a pie.

My second card is a card I made for my daughter. She's a cake lover too! Takes after her Momma. :-) But she does eat pie.

This card is based on Clouds' bonus sketch.

Supplies: pattern paper: Webster's Pages from Paper Popsicle's Cherry Pie kit; sticker: Wordsworth; buttons from craft supply

New Digiments release day!

They are here! The new Digiments are now available to view and purchase! I mentioned the sweet deal the other day: 24 Digiments for $10 for this weekend only. $10 for the entire set of new Digiments! Such a great deal since the they normally sell for a $1.00 each.

Now let me share with you what I created with a new Inspirations Digiment.

This is a card and a little magnet I made. I know the angle of this photo is a little different but wanted to capture both items. The next picture shows the card front

I am mailing this to a friend of mine that could use a little prayer right now and thought the magnet could be used at home or work. Be sure to see all the design teams examples at Digiments! I think you will like the projects and cards so hop on over to get inspired!

Summer Fun cards

My dear friend Pam sent me some luscious citrus colored papers recently that I created with tonight. I am not sure of the brand(s) but do believe a few are SEI and DCWV. I just know that I had lots of fun using them!
My first card is for Caardvarks challenge from July's Sheetload of Cards issue. Have you seen this free ezine? If not you need to! There are lovely inspirations to be seen.
Not sure if the photo captures the butterfly to the fullest. I placed a large butterfly rub-on on the bottom and then cut out a smaller matching butterfly and folded the wings to give a little depth. No flat cards for me. :-)

My second card is for Card Patterns #23 sketch. There is a bonus sketch this week by Kris Swain. I am hoping to work on it tomorrow because I love the scallop circle she incorporated in it. :-)
This sketch includes a few layers which I love and a scallop edge.

Thank you for coming by!

Weekend wrap up with some good news!

How I adore Sundays! I ended my week very nicely by celebrating my nephew's 6th birthday with family and friends, spending lots of time with J,a little creating, and a top 5 card spot for 2S4Y this week! A big thanks to Kazan and 2S4Y team for this honor!

I am loving the warm weather and enjoying the fruits and vegetables that the farmer's market and grocery stores have to offer. There is a new little stand near my parent's house that I like to stop by and see their selection. I had doggie sitting last week so I was there a few days which was really nice. The beast, err... I mean Bear was completely overjoyed to see me each day, it was well worth it! I miss the love and affection a dog can provide. He's a feisty little fella but he loves to be next to you, literally touching/laying on you. We played outside and he had lots of doggie treats! I think of it is a returnable favor to my parents for the times they gave my daughter cupcakes, ice cream, and such prior to me picking her up. :-) Also, he hates his dog food. He was outside eating grass, sticks, leaves, anything but the food provided in his dish which lead me to believe he wanted something.
So back to the farmer's market. I spied some luscious strawberries, blackberries, and cherries. They smelled so good! I am not a pie person. I like to wash the berries in my colander and set on the counter for snacking. :-) Yummy!
My creativity was needing a jolt and I saw the new shaped card challenge at Paper Blossoms while having a few berries it came to me what I needed to do! Hence the strawberry shaped card. I used Core'dinations cardstock which has such wonderful texture and color! My attempt at a free hand strawberry card:

Supplies: cardstock: Core'dinations; stamp: Inkadinkado; ink: Brilliance; rhinestones: Jo-Ann's; ribbon and button from craft supply

Thank you for dropping by! Have a wonderful Sunday!

More Webster's!

As promised, I am back with another Webster's Pages card! This card is based on Kazan's sketch at 2S4Y this week and The Pink Elephant's #22 challenge to use stars and strips. I cut a strip for the top of the card, cut a strip for the sentiment, and cut a star out of the pattern paper.
This card sketch by Kazan is a really unique design. I love seeing what Kazan and Laura's sketches are weekly!

Again with the side shot to attempt to show some of the definition.

Supplies: cardstock: Wausau white;ribbon: Creative Expressions; button: Favorite Findings; floss: DMC; pattern papers and aplhabet stickers are from Paper Popsicles Cherry Pie mini kit.

New kit for me!

The Paper Popsicles new July mini kit was waiting for me when I got home! Yeah! It's filled with Webster's Pages papers which happens to be a favorite company of mine. I always wait a bit to cut these papers because I want to be sure I am making the best choice. I was eager to create with this time and dug right in! :-) They are so beautiful on their own with the many intricate patterns combined with flowers, birds, etc. I love highlighting the designs with fussy cutting. I can use one sheet of paper to create several cards. I am sharing one for now. The next few days I will reveal the others. :-)

This first card is for Card Patterns #22 sketch. I did a little fussy cutting and inking to make the bird image stand out a tad. I think the written words on the bird is so lovely!

This is my card on an angle which I thought might show the details a little better. Not certain that it does so I took a shot straight on as well. :-)

Supplies: Papers and alphabet from Paper Popsicles July mini kit; Stickles Platinum; Kaiser Craft flowers; Making Memories trim; Stampin' Up Creamy Caramel and Summer Sun ink

Congratulations to... KIM!!!!
Kim left this comment:
Love the repurposed projects! My dd who is sitting here with me loves them too!!! Since it is now July 5th, I can tell you that our 4th of July was nothing too exciting - we had a garage sale all day and then just spent the evening together as a family relaxing! It was great since that is not something we get to do very often.Kimckgalea@yahoo.com

Scrapbook News and Review "Oh Say Can You See 4th of July Blog Hop" and a prize to be won!

I'm so glad you could join the SNR Card Universe Blog Hop! If you came from Courtney Fowler's blog you are on the right track! If you didn't, here's the beginning of the hop: Card Universe so you can start at the beginning.

There are over 90 blogs on this hop and each one has amazing cards and projects to share!
I started working on this as soon as I signed up. Such a fun blog hop to be a part of and for the first time ever, I am offering a sweet patriotic prize for one lucky winner! Details are below.

This is a light hearted quote I found that sums up how my day will be spent:

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism. ~Erma Bombeck

My first project is for a "repurposed" item. These are little jam/jelly jars that I altered with a few vintage images from Vintage Image Crafts, buttons, ribbon, and wire. Super easy to create and such a fun gift to give for the 4th of July hostess or friend! Wouldn't one of these filled with a treat be cute left hanging on a neighbor's doorknob? I bought sparklers for the kids to place in one and some yogurt covered blueberries to put in the other.

Supplies: cardstock: Bazzill; jewels: Heidi Grace; buttons: craft supply; ribbon and wire from craft supply; paint: white; images: Vintage Image Crafts

I also made this birthday card because it's my brother's birthday today! I really like the Creative Imaginations paper because it's so whimsical.
Supplies: cardstock: Wausau white.; pattern paper; Creative Imaginations; chipboard heart: Heidi Grace; eyelets: craft supply; ribbon: Wright's; rub-on: American Crafts mini marks; staples: Wal Mart; tools: Fiskar's Apron Lace border punch

Now on to the prize! It's really simple. Just leave a comment on this post telling me your 4th of July plans and I will choose one lucky winner to receive a sweet patriotic prize! I will draw a random winner at the end of the blog hop, Sunday 10 PM CST.

Wishing you a happy Independence Day!

Next stop on the blog hop is Gerrie!
