It's Wednesday!

Hey there!  Happy Wednesday to you!  I am back with an owl card today.  The image is from Black Leaf Studios, our sponsor at Crafty Creations this week.
I was estatic when Tanvi contacted me to sponsor our blog.    This is my first time hosting so it was up to me to select a theme for the week. Tanvi let me choose any of the designs/images in the shop and I went with Owl Magic .  It was a tough decision because there are so many great stamps to select from.  Not to mention the digi papers, stationary, tags, bags, and boxes, and more!  Pop on over to see for yourself.   Be sure to join in on the Crafty Creations challenge to be entered to win 10 digi papers.

I opened the owl image in Paint and filled in.  Then I went back with Stickles to give a little sparkle on the owls dots.

Last day of Summer! Bring on Fall!

It's me again!  Back with a fall card but used some "unique" colors.  Instead of the traditional orange,  yellow, and brown colors, I opted to try .....
I told you they weren't traditional.    I really like this Crate paper and it was sitting on my desk beckoning me to use it.
My card started out for Crafty Creations challenge which is "falling leaves".  The lovely Jaime is sponsoring this week and you could win this stamp set.  The design team has incredible samples to share so be sure to visit here and view them.
This card is based on  Card Patterns sketch #82.  I know I always say how much I love the sketches there and  I really do!
I found this frame and leaf digi stamp from Tiffany Doodles last week.   I printed it on two different papers and then carefully cut the frame out.  I liked the exposed polka dot paper under the frame so I popped the frame up with foam dots to give a little depth.  I did the same with the leaf.  I added a piece of lace and ruffle ribbon and then stamped the sentiment on the scallop piece.  I inked the entire card with a red chalk ink to highlight.
I am entering this into the Stamp Something challenge which is for digis.  Anything digi
applies, paper, stamps, etc.
I am behind on dinner and DD wants chicken noodle soup.  It's in the 90's but she likes her soup.  I promised I would make her it homemade for  tonight so off to complete.

Dear Friend

Hey there!  I am completely distracted with watching television lately.  I know that's just sad.  Very sad.  I sat down tonight to work on 25 tile pendants for a  swap and got to 10 when I said, enough. I gotta get back to my TV.  What shows are you watching?
So yesterday my DD was quite the clever one.  I left a note for her to call me when she got in and please empty the dishwasher.  She never called.  Therefore, I called and C answered the phone.  That's my step son and he told me there was a note on the door for him when he got home.  Huh?  I left a note for J not C.  Apparently, she took my note down and wrote a new note for C stating, "Mom wants you to empty the dishwasher- J."  Oh my!   I got her on the phone and told her to get those dishes unloaded and have C help, then quickly hung up and busted out laughing.
My card for today:

I am pleased to announce this is my first week as a guest designer for Papertake Weekly.  The challenge is animal magic.  I grabbed some unused stash for this card.  The scallop border, flower, and rick rack have been in my collection for far too long.  The paper and labels are Sass Lass.  The chipboard letters are Lush by MME.  I added the bling to jazz them up a bit.
Alphabet Challenge: "Unused Stash"
Papertake Weekly: "Animal Magic"
Totally Gorjuss:#48 "Animals"

Okay I am off of here.  Have a great evening!

Grateful for

Fall!  Indeed I am!  Beautiful weather here.  Mid 80's and holding.  It rained for a bit yesterday but not enough to quench my plants thirst.  They need some TLC.  I have been neglecting them during the week and then trying to make up for it on the weekends.  Not so good.

I am squeaking this card in late at night because I finally got some creative time.  Not so good  for photos.  :-(  I apologize for the poor lighting.  I keep saying I need to buy one of those light tents.  With Fall here, the day is growing shorter so just might break down and do that real soon.

My card uses Card Patterns sketch #81.  Tomorrow will be a new sketch so cutting this one close.  Whew!  I hate missing out on their sketches.  I was determined to get it done.  :-)
Also entering this is in Creative Card Crew for Autumn and Incy Wincy Designs challenge using Autumn Colors.   I used browns and oranges predominantly with a touch of black and cream.

Okay have to get my parade outfit ready for tomorrow.  Good night!

Intentions

I had every intention of posting last night but things got busy and well... the blog falls by the wayside if you know what I mean.  I figured having under garments to wear for work/school the next day was a bigger priority than posting a card I made.  I feel like I have been wading through 6 feet high waters lately and that's not so good when you are 5'2.  Not complaining because I have a family, job, and friends that support me in more ways than one.  Okay before I jinx myself, I am moving on.
My card for today is not the happiest of cards.  It's a card for someone experiencing loss and to tell you the truth I have way too many friends/family experiencing some sort of loss these days.

I used a sentiment from The Cutting Cafe' file found here.
Challenges for this card:
Creative Belli Blog: #100 "B items" brads
My Sketch World: "September 15th Card Sketch"
Southern Girls Challenge: #1 "Anything Goes"
Stampin' Sisters in Christ: #56 "Real or Faux Stitching"

Not bucket full of sunshine this evening so signing off.  Thank you for stopping by!

Just Dance

Happy day to you!  It seems like forever since I have posted.  What a week already.  Anyone have any ideas about how to keep a teenager awake in school?  The 6 AM wake up call for DD is reeking havoc.  We are trying an early bedtime, but not sure a teenager going to bed before 9 PM is going to happen.  School starts at 7:15 AM so she is dragging in there.  I am not a morning person myself so I feel her pain.  Any suggestions on how to get her awake besides caffeine are appreciated.  I think if I sent her in jacked up on Red Bull her teacher might be upset.

My card today features a digital image from Tiddly Inks.   I never took Ballet.  I was always a tap or gymnastics girl.   I don't have the grace of a dancer.  Onto my card because I am sure you do not want to read about my lack of coordination.  This started as my Crafty Creations card and quickly developed into several challenges.  I love mixing like this because it creates a card I probably would not have thought of.  :-)
Melissa is hosting the challenge this week and she came up with a Music/Dance theme.  Love it Melissa!  She introduced me to Tiddly Inks and I ♥ Cristy Croll's designs.  They are so adorable!

Witching You

Hey there!  Happy Friday everyone.  Today was a gorgeous day with temps in the mid 70's.  A cool breeze a blowing reminds me of Fall and one of my favorite holidays to celebrate is Halloween.  Today I have a witchy card for you.

I totally forgot to crop this.  Or I did and then I did the undo button.  :-(  Oh well.  It's been that kind of week for me.
This cute little witch image is courtesy of Two Scoops Rice Designs.  I snagged it last year in hopes of making lots of Halloween cards but never got around to it.   I was looking through my computer files last night and found it so I printed a bunch and made this card.
The sentiment is from The Cutting Cafe.  It's from a new file called, "Halloween Time" which has 55 assorted images and greetings.    Also if you like working with digital stamps, please consider applying for the design team.  Regina is great to work with!  Read all about it  here.
I used Papertake Weekly's  #47 sketch as seen here.  I really like this sketch because it has lots of layers.  Which happens to be Pile It On's challenge this week.     I I love the "play on words"  sentiment which is Cute Card Thursday's challenge this week.
Last but not least, I am incorporating this into the Wee Memories challenge #21: "Wee Ones"

Supplies:
cardstock: Core'dinations and Recollections
pattern paper: daisy D's
image: TSRD
sentiment: The Cutting Cafe
ribbon: Martha Stewart
rhinestone: Darice

It's time for a new Crafty Creations Challenge!

Hey there!  It's Wednesday and that means it's a new Crafty Creations Challenge.  This week Claire challenged us to make a card with the theme being "Transportation".  Claire designs these fabulous digital images that can be found here.
Here is one of her designs.

You can find all of Claire's fabulous designs  here.  Her artist name is
My card for this challenge:
I used Sass Lass papers mostly.  My card stock is Recollections which I inked with Hero Arts red ink.  I stamped "Hello" with a powder puff blue.  I cut out the hot air balloon from a piece of the Sass Lass and used foam dots to pop up.  Finally, I added a few buttons to finish it off.
Get busy creating your card and enter the challenge here.
Off to work I need to go.  Have a great day!

First day of school

is finally here!  I really think waiting for the bus in the dark stinks though.  Not to mention my daughter is the only girl at the stop.  Thankfully we have streetlights and it's right outside our front door.  I know- paranoid Mom.  That is me.  We tried in vain last night to find her final schedule on line but there was nothing.  I was hoping we could review on the school map her classes to ease any anxiety.  My step son was a tad nervous but had no worries about finding his homeroom.  He was ready an hour before the bus came and just relaxing watching TV.  A yin and yang experience.  Kinda nice for balance. :-)
Today's card is for a dear friend.  Without going into details, she lost her son recently.  My heart breaks for her and the family.  There are no words of comfort one can give.

I asked Regina from The Cutting Cafe if she could create a file for sympathy/support and the sentiment you see here is from this new set.  The set is entitled, "You're in my thoughts" and features inside and outside sentiments which are so touching.

I based this card off of 2S4Y's #60 by Laura this week.  I missed last week so glad I was able to jump back in with this one.  I started earlier so I could be sure to.  :-)
I just discovered I made Ellephantastic's top 3 last week for this card. Much thanks for this!  I was greatly surprised and delighted.  I am adding this card in for the "Remembrance/Sympathy" challenge #10 this week.
I found a fabulous cocktail ring from  Glamasaurus for this week's Etsy Inspired challenge:
I love the purple rose with the hint of green and the ivory mixed with brass.  I thought these GCD papers were a great pairing for this.
That's it for me now.  :-)

Just for you

Happy Saturday!  Hope you are having a fabulous day!  I had a little creative time today.  Okay, I made time to create.  Since I have been back to work, I can't create everyday.  It's totally going to be insane next week adjusting with all the schedules our family has to balance, but looking forward to school starting.  :-)

I brought out some Sass Lass papers to create this card today.  I like the vintage appeal of it.  The bright colors are fun and the mixture of elements make it so whimsical.

I made the scallop edge card using my EK Success border punch.  I use this punch a min. of once a week.  It's a must have for crafters in my opinion.  I then matted a piece of Sass Lass paper on the front  and trimmed a piece of lace  for the left side.  I cut a little piece of turquoise felt and then stitched around it with green thread.  Next, I layered a rectangle of Sass Lass and inked a piece of white cardstock.  I fussy cut a duck from pattern paper and  a digital sentiment from The Cutting Cafe.  I added bling and a button to embellish.

Challenges for my card:
Alphabet Challenge:  S is for  "Scallops"  scallop shaped card
Crafty Catz: #48 "3 embellishments, 2 papers, and 1 image"  used lace, button, rhinestone, 2 diffterent Sass Lass paper, 1 image
Cute Card Challenge: #128 "Use Material" felt
Get Sketchy: #54  "sketch"
My Sketch World: SuzAnn's Sept. Challenge "On the Edge"  scalllop edges
Paperplay:  Week 35  " In Stitches" hand stitching on felt and stitching on paper

Shine

Hey!  Happy Thursday.  It's almost time for a three day weekend for most of us here in the States.  Of course with Earl barreling towards the east coast, it doesn't looks like many people are going to get to the beaches with mandatory visitor evacuations.  Praying for those effected and hope it loses some steam to be downgraded to a storm.

Onto my card for today.  This incorporates some new product with old.  I used a new stamp I found at Michael's on my last visit.  I love this candelabra.  The pattern papers are Webster's and Rusty Pickle.
Challenges for my card:
CCCB: #20 "Let Your Light Shine"
The Shabby Tea Room: #25 "Old Meets New"

Thanks for stopping by!

I Miss You

Happy Wednesday!
I am back with my  card for Crafty Creations.  This week's challenge is white plus one color.  The sponsor, The Stamping Boutique gave the design team this adorable bunny image to work with.   I was challenged for sure.  I had no idea I used so many colors.  I tried my best to stick to the same color palette, a salmon pink.  I pulled out a PTI Pink Patterns paper pack (can you say that 3 times really fast?) to ensure I did not default and try more colors.  :-)  I have the 6x6 paper pack and really like the patterns.  You can see I used 3 different papers for the card below.

I am also proud to announce it's my first day on the My Sketch World design team.    So excited!  This card uses Lucy's card sketch which you can find here.  Be sure to join us at the forum for lots of fun.

Challenges this card is for:
Crafty Creations: #83"Pink and White"
Cupcake Craft Challenges: #106  "Let's Go Digital"
Ellephantastic: #9  "Pink and Grey"
My Sketch World:  September Card Sketch
Pile It On: #34 " Farewell"
