Snowed In

First snow day for DD and it's been a lazy one for us. We are chilling in our pajamas watching TV, snow plowers come through neighborhood, and drinking hot cocoa. Fun times!!
I got a little time to create Laura's sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You this week. Again, I used my Making Memories Sabrina line. This is the Design Team's final sketch for their reign. I am excited to read who will be on the new DT. Good luck to all that applied. I opted out as I have too many commitments. I am really hoping I can apply in the Summer when I have a little less going on. :-)

Made it!

2 days into the this teenager thing and all seems well. ;-)
Over at Paper Popsicles, Lynda issued a challenge to repurpose something perhaps bought for the holidays into something new? I bought a bag of Lemax trees at Michael's after Christmas. I thought they might be useful for next year, but when I read Lynda's post... I knew what I wanted to do with them right away. Only problem was getting them the color I wanted. I bought some pink spray paint to cover the evergreen fir. I painted three coats on and never completely achieved the look I wanted but decided it would suffice. Here's my pink Valentine tree. What's missing are pink fingers with burnt tips from hot glue. Ha ha! Let's just say I have some really raw hands at the moment. Oh well. All in good fun! My DD loves this tree so that in of it self was good to hear! Thank you for coming by!!

One day away

till my DD turns 13! A teenager. As many have said before, "where has the time gone?" She will forever remain my sweet baby and I will always love her dearly. A few things to share with you today.
First is a sign I made for DD's birthday. I really thought this Pink Paislee line was cute and since DD and I make cupcakes quite often, it was perfect for this little plaque.

Have you seen the new Making Memories lines? I was not sure I would like the Sabrina but it grew on me and now, I am really liking it. I made this card for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week and Caardvarks new challenge to use polka dots. You can't see it very well in the photo but the black paper with the sentiment is the embossed swiss dot by Bazzill. It's really cool when you use a rub-on because it empathsizes the dots. Not sure if you can see?

Thank you for coming by!

Lots of things brewing for me

and I will not have to time to share them all but will pick a few items out. I spent a good portion of my week purging my stash. It feels good to be organized. Well, half way organized if there is such a term. :-) Anyhow, despite my best efforts to have everything put away and straightened out before beginning any projects, it was not be. I caved and made a couple of cards and started an altered item. Thanks for coming by to see!

First, Caardvarks has some fabulous creations on their blog and Flickr group that I recommend you check out. The latest sketch is being sponsored by Studio Calico. Here's mine:

Supplies: Bazzill cardstock, Cosmo Cricket Journal, Making Memories tag, CK rub on's, Jo-Ann's ribbon, and Glimmer Mist

The next item is for a new Valentine swap I am. It's a vintage theme so I used some 7 Gypsies papers to cover the box. I have not finished the inside yet. I hope to do that later this weekend. For now:

Here is a top view to see a little more detail:

And finally one last card to share that I made from scraps:

You Warm My Heart

For Christmas, my DD gave me a gift certificate to the LSS. I used self restraint and did not spend all of it in one shopping spree. In fact, I only used a quarter of it. Pretty good for me. Anyhow, the Fancy Pants line; Splendid was too cute to pass up so I grabbed a few sheets. The reason I really like patterned paper is because it is cheaper than a stamp. I can afford to buy a few sheets of paper for under a dollar to keep current. :-)
I used the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch for this card. I got the glitter out and then I remembered why I don't use it so much. Glitter was everywhere despite my best efforts to be careful. Oh well, there are worse things in life than my table being covered in glitter. I decided to dress the envelope a tad.

Thank you for dropping by!

Still Hurts

Yeah it does and I don't like to admit but probably will haunt me forever. The thing that keeps me so frightened? The... scale. Here's my page on how it still hurts to get on it and see that figure. I can go up and down in my weight but never going to be satisfied with the number I see. Personal demons suck!
This was done from a prompt by Gutter Girlz. Challenge was to use title: Still Hurts, sewing needles/pins, and "I'm Not Ready to Make Nice" by Dixie Chicks. I selected everything except the song to put in my title since it's more about a person than a thing.
Thank you to Gauche Alchemy for the Cosmo Cricket paper and cool ephemera! I won it a while back and I am finally using it!
It takes a crappy picture from far but not about picture pleasing. Just for me. :-)
