Hey there! Short on time today but want to share two cards I made.


This is for Little Red Wagon's sketch and For The Luv of Art's "Summer Fun" challenge issued by Renee. Again, using more of my Fancy Pants "Rusted Sun" papers and alphabet stickers. I fussy cut the bikini and flower then popped up with foam dots. The word "Summer" is by Autumn Leaves and a golden yellow Darice rhinestone. It came together quickly and I like the little polka dot bikini. Probably because this is the closest I will ever get to wearing one. :-)


Next is my take on Card Patterns newest sketch which I rotated. Another great sketch to work with this week!

Again more Fancy Pants paper, a little fussy cutting, Foofala button, Target ribbon, a few red stitches, and you probably can't see it, but I used Stickles ice crystals on the blue waves.

Need a hug? and birthday wishes

Hey all! It's Sunday and I am taking it easy today. DD and I went to the pool yesterday but a storm made our time there short. :-( We didn't go today because DD woke up with hives from the sunscreen I used. Her cheeks are flushed and hot, her chest is covered with hives, and her arms have huge red patches. I can't believe I did not check it prior for potential reactions. I feel like the worse Mom ever. It's so hard to see her suffering. I have given her Benadryl and she is resting now. I can tell you that we will not be using Banana Boat Sport SPF 85 any longer. I will stick with the Coopertone.
On a positive note, it's my dad's birthday. Happy Birthday Dad! I am going to try and go see him tonight if J feels better. We will celebrate as a family next weekend. I called to speak with him earlier and my Mom said he was out working in the yard. Yucky yard work on your birthday? He's more disciplined than me. Most be the military side.
So my DD definitely needs some hugs and TLC. I made this card last night using JUG's "let's go digital" challenge.


I printed these pattern papers from My Time Made Easy on white cardstock and then printed Water Waverly Wiggles digital images/sentiments on a piece of turquoise cardstock. I made the flower using a chipboard outline, distressing with ink, and then curling the edges. An orange button adores the center. I cut a strip of the pattern paper and folded it to make a decorative border along the bottom then I attached a scrap piece of the We R Memory Keeper's paper. Next I cut the sentiment in a pennant shape, adhered to scrap piece and added a few stitches.

You are a Super Father

Hey everyone! I have just one card to share with you today. It's for Simon so if you are Simon, stop reading this post now! :-) Of course knowing how you are, you will most certainly read ahead and see the card I made for you to celebrate Father's Day.

I used Kazan's 2S4Y card sketch and applied The Shabby Tea Room's challenge, "Just for Dad"
for the theme.

Again using We R Memory Keeper's papers, a recycled cardboard cup insulator from Panera, AC Mini Marks rub-on's mixed with Karen Foster, Making Memories brads, DMC floss, and Foofala button. I used Stampin Up's Sahara Sand to ink the edges of the papers and cardboard.

Hello Sunshine!

Sure wish we had the sun today but it's good to have a little rain every now and then. No bike ride today since it's raining, so I guess I get to make a few things instead. :-) I always feel guilty if I don't exercise. I managed to tackle the trails by my house and kinda bored now with my regime. Sure, I could aim for a better time or ride in the opposite direction I normally do, but still bored with the trails. I live in a neighborhood that Civil War troops encamped and a battle was fought. It's a 133 acre park with almost 3 miles of walking and equestrian trails. It has a pond, silo, creek with a super cute little bridge to ride over, and a small graveyard. That's kinda the creepy part. More than 200 soldiers are believed to have died and been buried on the grounds. Only a small amount have marked graves. I find that incredibly sad. I can't fathom what conditions they endured during the war and disease was rampant. So not a camping person. I have been spoiled with modern day amenities .

I want to share a card made with a brand spanking new file from The Cutting Cafe. The file is a sun shaped card that includes an envelope, circle sentiments, and regular sentiments.

I printed the template on We R Memory Keepers papers. It came together really quickly and I think it's super cute! I punched the sentiment with a circle punch and then used a smaller circle punch that I matted in the center with a yellow button and floss. It's that easy!

This week's Stamp Something is a digi day challenge. Yeah! I am addicted to digi's. I have lots saved on my computer that I need to use. They are addictive and I love how I never have to worry about it smearing or not being straight. There are lots of great examples to view for this challenge so pop on over and check them out!

Let the Sun Shine and Surf's Up

I am typing with a very sore arm today. My DD loves the Volkswagen commerical where they punch the person in the arm every time they spot a VW. Except she does not care if it's a VW, Volvo, BMW, etc. she just calls the color and punches me. After picking her up this afternoon, she proceeded to punch me for 25 minutes on our way home despite the fact that I kept trying to explain the rules of the "game". To no avail. She kept saying, "you're joking with me, right Mom?" About five minutes from home she grew tired of the game and decided to sing show tunes. Oh joy! Sometimes explaining things to an Aspie can be challenging. Nevertheless, I love her so!
Okay two cards to share today. I finally cut into my Fancy Pants, "Rusted Sun" collection. Such a cute line with flowers, surf boards, swimming attire, plaids, and polka dots. My first card is for Card Patterns sketch #67



Everything is Fancy Pants except the button (Autumn Leaves) and rhinestones (Bazzill). I couldn't resist buying the ribbon package they offer! I love pom poms and the printed floral ribbon is satin and ties nicely.
My next card is for JUGS #36 sketch. Again, I used Fancy Pants "Rusted Sun" papers and stickers ,Autumn Leaves buttons, and Ice Stickles on the surf board.
My inspiration for both Summer cards was based off the latest OCC challenge: what does Summer mean to you? To me, it's sun, sand, and fun!

Create Happiness and You're Awesome

Hey there everyone! It's Thursday which means we only have one day till the weekend! DD was sick today so spent the first part of my day with her. She appears to be feeling better now. Thankfully! Hence my ability to post a few cards.
First is a card for the Card Patterns sketch # 66 mixed with The Shabby Tea Room's challenge #12 to add a heart(s) to card.

I pulled out my Bazzill swiss dot cardstock and used The Girl's Paperie pattern papers which are so shabby chic and I ♥ very much. The transparency is by Junkitz. They are no longer in production but a generous friend sent me a huge box of their products! :-) I added two Heidi Grace heart decorative pins with the sheer blue ribbon and three rhinestone hearts to give a little sparkle. Can one ever have too much pink on a card?

My next card uses a new Cutting Cafe file, All Occasion Frame set. It comes with 30 different frames in various sizes and assorted sentiments.
I used the 4x6 Thank You for my card along with some Sass Lass papers and AC Minimarks Rub-On's. I have been hoarding these rub-on's for a bit now and finally started to use them. It just wouldn't be an "Amy" card without ribbon or bling so I added a few K & Co. blue pearls to highlight and a polka dot ribbon bow.

Wouldn't these be cute to print out and have your child draw a picture of appreciation to the person you are sending the card to? I have a few more ideas for these frames as well and hope to get some time this weekend to work on them.

Yeah it's June!

Opps! I intended on posting the first of June but I guess the second day of June will have to do. Summers are meant for easy living right? :-)
I promised a project for gcd Studios since I was selected as a "Spotlight Girl" for the month.
ETA: Just received an email from Heidi saying it's next month for my " Spotlight" so stay tuned for those projects!
This is the first of several items I made. A pinwheel! Pinwheels are fun to blow outdoors, indoors, for parades, picnics, reunions, or for ornamental decorations. To celebrate the start of Summer I thought a pinwheel would be perfect! I bought the wood pinwheel from A.C. Moore.

I painted it white and then covered with various sheets from the Ava paper collection.

Then I painted the edges of the petals with a little more paint. I cut cute sayings from a piece of BookPage in the Artsy Urban collection to place on each petal. I thought they added a touch of whimsy to it.

This picture shows all the sayings: so kind, making peace, ready to fly, beauty everywhere, big dreams, and friendship. I punched a small circle for the center and then added a yellow button and rhinestone.

I modge podged the entire project so it can be used outside. Last step was tie a piece of grosgrain ribbon on the stick.

I went outside to take pictures of the pinwheel and spotted a baby praying mantis on the stair rail.


Simon loves all creatures so he was eager to see the little fellow. Apparently he liked him because he climbed right up his arm! Every year we have a praying mantis on our front porch. I read somewhere it's a sign of good luck. I sure hope so! I thought it was cool that
