You Made Me Mom

A dedication to my beautiful Mother today.  She made me whom I am and I am ever so grateful that she has shown me how to be a gracious soul with love for others.  She is continuously supportive of me and her  love for me has never wavered.  Her ability to see through my terrible teens was enough to drive any parent out of their mind.  However, she endured and found ways to connect with me and show faith in me.  Her constant words aided me in my darkest times.  Thank you Mom!  I love you!
This card is inspired by many challenges.  I actually sat down, blurfed, and wrote down blog challenges I wanted to incorporate into this card.  It was amazing what I ended up with and I like.  Of course, I am a little bias.  :-)
So let's chat about this.  My students at school ask me to chat with them and it's one of the greatest times of the day.  The light goes on inside them and their eyes fill with excitement as they tell me their stories.  So sweet!
Okay so this started as my Sentimental Sundays card.  This week we are paying tribute to those special women in our lives which you can read about here

I knew I wanted my card to feature the latest Play Date Cafe color challenge which is red, lime, and grey as seen here.

I also knew I wanted it be cased from this beautiful card by Silke on Case Study:

I picked some delicious MME papers from the So Sophie and Stella Rose lines. I used a sentiment from Mother's Day  created by Ann Vento and printed it on So Sophie.  Then I die cut it with my PTI Fillable Frames #10.  I covered my entire card with MME Stella Rose pattern paper.
I knew I needed a large flower and I decided to take the Moxie Fab Challenge: Tissue Paper Magic.  Oh my!  You have to see all the fabulous things you can do with tissue paper.  I was completely flabbergasted when I saw it in the latest edition of  Paper Crafts.  So  grabbed some red tissue paper and made my version of a carnation.  I used two layers here because it was so small to fluff up that more than that made it difficult to pull up the individual layers.  I keep looking at it and thinking, does it look like a balled up piece of tissue?  I seriously worked on it and added a black button to the center along with some pearl stamens.  I hope you see it.
I added a large piece of lace and a grey bow to give some texture.  Again, a few rhinestones to sparkle it up and voila!  I said it's done.
I hope you like!

Challenges I would like to enter my card into:
2 Sisters: #37 For a Mom
Case Study: #37 card example
Craft Us Crazy: #7 Mother's Day
Play Date Cafe: #79 Color challenge
Totally Gurjuss: #78 123 (1 flower, 2 designer papers, 3 colors)

Have a blessed Sunday!
