A pretty day with warm temps.  Are you sure it's November?  It's been exactly one week since my Grandmother passed away and today I wanted to spend some time creating in honor of her.  She loved cards!  In fact, she had a huge stack placed in her hands  inside her casket. I have a bit of good news to share.    Yesterday I received a happy email from Paper Crafts magazine for a card to be published in the  May/June 2011 edition.  It was a grand day for me and I can't help but feel like my Grandmother had a little help in this.  ;-)
Today I made a thank you card because I am extremely thankful for all of you that sent me encouraging comments or emails.  I truly was overwhelmed with how much support I received and I am so appreciative that you took the time to stop and think of me.  For you:
I used a few challenges for this card.  The first was an inspiration photo from The Shabby Tea Room
I focused on the lavender and lace for my card with some stitching and distressed edges for a shabby feel.  Here's close up of that:
The sentiment is from Raindrop Echo designs and was offered as a freebie a while back.  I love her  sentiments and  printed it off the Stamp Something challenge which is to use a digital image/sentiment.  The papers are gcd Studios.  I mixed in a piece of lace, a bow tied with a button, and a glittered  berry pick  to embellish.  My card design is  based off of CASE Study #14 which features a fabulous card by Heather.  Where have I been?   I can't believe I am just discovering this fantastic blog!  To wrap it all up, I am submittng this in the Paper Play #45 challenge which is for lace, ribbon, and flowers.  What an awesome combination!  Some of my favorite things indeed!  They are having a DT call so you might want to pop over and check it out!
Thank you again for visiting me today!  I wish you a wonderful day!
